The American Wrestling Alliance, or AWA, was a professional wrestling organization based out of Atlanta, Georgia and relocated to two locations; first in Virginia Beach, Virginia, then onto New York City, New York, and now to its current location in Atlanta, Georgia. American Wrestling Alliance mainly operated in the southestern parts of the United States MiniUnitedStatesFlag including in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, and Tennessee where most of the wrestling bouts were promoted in. In some occation, American Wrestling Alliance also promoted in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

History

2006 - 2008

National Wrestling Alliance, who also operates GWA, openned AWA to the southeastern United States. This is a brand extension from the Global Wrestling Alliance. On August 25, 2006, National Wrestling Alliance ciosed it down due to low turn-outs. It was owned by the National Wrestling Alliance from June 6, 2006 to January 2007, then from January 2007 to January 8, 2008, it was owned by Maximillion Pegasus, and it was sold on January 8, 2008 to the Christian Championship Wrestling bought out American Wrestling Alliance to break up the monopolising the NWA. It is unclear that American Wrestling Alliance would reopen under CCW's banner.

2009 - 2010

Through 2009 and 2010, American Wrestling Alliance had been on the shelf for these two years, but, the new owners of the company, United Wrestling Federation had indeed mention in a press release that the American Wrestling Alliance would be coming back in 2011 for a territorial companion for one of its three brands (at that time)

2011 - Current

As promise, the American Wrestling Alliance made its reopen as the Betrayal's' territorial companion for the next few years; unless there is an excessive amount of wrestlers on their three brands.
