Blue Thunder is the superheroic alter-ego of the members of the Maurako professional wrestling family. The masked character, known for his excessively good deeds and sense of truth, justice, and the American way, has been played by at least two different wrestlers throughout his career-- Martino "Marty" Maurako was the original face under the mask, while his brother, Mario Maurako, has also been known to portray the hero at times, most notably his 2004 run in Online Championship Wrestling. The brothers, with their similar physiques, were almost impossible to tell apart under the mask, making the character very effective for throwing opponents off-guard. It is unconfirmed, but possible that other wrestlers have donned the mask at some point. Blue Thunder's last appearance for over five years was at Blackout 2006, where Martino captured the OCW United States Championship from rival Night Stalker. In 2011, Blue Thunder resurfaced in High Octane Wrestling, winning the HOW Television Title from John Sektor in Thunder's first match in the promotion. Despite a public unmasking on a HOW pay-per-view revealing Mario under the mask, Blue Thunder has appeared since alongside every member of the Maurako Family, leaving the hero's identity a secret once more.
