Braddock is a city located in the U.S. state of Texas, within Braddock County. It is a suburb of Dallas, Texas. The city population is 112,030. Braddock is within the Dallas–Plano–Irving metropolitan division of the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area, a title designated by the U.S. Census, and is colloquially referred to as the Metroplex. The city is home to the WNWA, JRE Enterprises, Ewing Oil, OIL TV, Braddock County Coliseum, Braddock County Public Library and the Southfork Ranch.

Braddock was founded in the late nineteenth century as cattle ranchers began to settle in the outlying areas of Dallas. In the 1930s it was discovered that the area was rich in oil, providing a major economic boom during the lean years of The Great Depression. Essentially overnight the city of Braddock sprang up. After World War II the city grew with the influx of various forms of industry. In the 1970s a population boom occurred as citizens of Dallas moved toward the suburbs.

Unlike most cities, Braddock does not have a police force, rather it relies on the Braddock County Sheriff's Department for law enforcement. The Sheriff of Braddock is Fenton Washburn.

Braddock's city government is based on the Mayor/City Council model and the county government is based on the County Commissioner model.

Braddock County is dominated by cattle ranching, cable television, a thriving service industry and oil. Braddock is one of the wealthiest counties in Texas, though much of this wealth is concentrated among a select few individuals such as business magnate J.R. Ewing, Attorney Daniel O. Agbor, Coach Ass Butte, Prince Charming.
