The GWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship was a title defended in the GameFAQs Wrestling Federation. It was the first championship created in GWF history.
Shelton Splash originally awarded himself the title, but subsequently vacated the championship, in the interest of fairness. This was due to complaints from many wrestlers over whether or not Shelton could actually defend the belt.
SheltonSplash defeated Tadg30 at Rise and Fall. This proved to many doubters that Shelton could defend the championship against the very best the GWF had to offer. Shelton then held on to the title for a long period, defending the title irregularly. Finally, both Bryan Daniels and Danny Mainer entered a bidding war to take the championship. After weeks of vying to beat Shelton, including disrupting each other's title matches, they got a shot at Triple Threat. Bryan Daniels was locked in a locker room before the match began, therefore did not take part. Mainer defeated Shelton in a Vegas Bloodhouse match, after Shelton was electrocute. This would be Mainer's first championship in his GWF career.
Mainer allied himself with the Deadly Alliance and Bryan Daniels, his once sworn enemy. Bryan Daniels and Danny Mainer began a reign of terror over the GWF. This was cut short when Mainer was tragically killed, and the belt was vacated.
Dave Shadow won the vacated title on Friday Night Brawl, beating both his partner Kevin McAuliffe and Deadly Alliance leader Bryan Daniels in a three way match. Daniels put up a valiant effort against the odds, until Shadow defeated McAuliffe, ending his unpinned streak.
At Destiny Fulfilled, Kevin McAuliffe won a massive 8-man, two-title match. Dave Shadow swore revenge, and went out to take the belt back. Kevin defended his newly won title the Friday after Destiny Fulfilled on November 24, 2006.
At Valentine's Vengeance, they took part in the Shadowrun Challenge, which Kevin was victorious in. At Ultimate Decision, Kevin was victorious again, defeating Bryan Daniels in a Steel Cage match. Kevin's reign came to an end at Sunday Night Sacrifice, where the Intercontinental Champion would be the one who was not involved in the decision.
Ken became Champion when James Murphy made Kevin McAuliffe tap out, meaning that Ken became Intercontinental Champion, albeit not winning the match. Ken's reign finally came to an end at Rise and Fall 2, where he was beaten by Bryan Daniels.
7. "The Main Event" Bryan Daniels (June 17, 2007 - ???) Bryan became GWF Intercontinental Champion at Rise and Fall 2, holding both the United States and Intercontinental Championships simultaneously.
