The Greatest Ever Wrestlers are a backstage group of friends similar to the Kliq, currently active in Global Combat Wrestling. The name is a reference to the fact that the core members are all active in Global Extreme Wrestling. Unlike the Kliq, the Greatest Ever Wrestlers hold no decision-making power, but they are known to collectively consider themselves GCW's 'franchise players'.

History[]

The Greatest Ever Wrestlers originally formed in Iron City Wrestling when main event Global Extreme Wrestling wrestlers Kameron Chase and Baby Dogg joined the active roster as a team, with fellow GEW star James Magnum portraying a fanatically obsessed groupie of Chase. The Eli Keaton would also later join the group, although ICW folded before he debuted. Meanwhile, Magnum and recently returned GEW star Scott Simmonds made some appearances with the World Wrestling Association as a tag team named the Greatest Ever Wrestlers, an allusion to Global Extreme Wrestling. When ICW was bought out by Chris Carter's Global Combat Wrestling, Chase, Dogg and Magnum were all among the members of the ICW roster to sign up, with Magnum also bringing in Simmonds.

GCW[]

The clique, now collectively known as the Greatest Ever Wrestlers, soon established themselves as being among GCW's top talent. Together with associate and fellow ICW veteran Rachel Waters, members of the group were the first to hold each of the promotion's singles championships. Onscreen the group's existence has never been acknowledged but Magnum and Waters are known to be associates, as are Magnum and Simmonds. Simmonds is the current #1 contender to Waters' GCW No Limits Championship, meaning the title will stay within the group for the immediate future. Dogg has vowed to oppose cheating throughout the company, but specifically namechecked Magnum, Simmonds and Waters as people she would protect (alongside Jay Dee and Apocalypse), although she has not appeared with any of them.
