Gregory Alois McGavin, better known by his ring name, "The Shooter" McGavin, is currently with a company called CPW. He has held the World Heavyweight Championship on two occasions as well as being a former amateur champion and was also ranked #4 in the country in amateur championships.
Before Pro Wrestling[]
McGavin trained for a prominent wrestling career in North Carolina, after moving from Savannah at age 9. He became North Carolina state High School Wrestling Champion at the 230 pound level.
His nickname "Shooter" was given to him, by his High School Wrestling coach, Don McDrownle in 1994. He turned down colleigiate offers to continue at UNC at Charlotte, in order to enter Wrestling. He was on the UNCC team and came in fourth in the nation, to determine the 1993 NCAA Champion.
