In The Summer Time is the annual August PPV of Championship Professional Wrestling. It is held the last weekend of August, usually in a warm outdoor environment.
In The Summer Time has been held Seven times in California, Thrice in South Carolina and Twice in Oregon.
It was first held on August 31, 1996 in Turlock, CA. The main event of the first PPV was Jackie Blayze (the defending Women's Champion) defeating Danny Brun (the defending World Men's Champion) to unify the two World Titles and become the first female to win a Men's World Heavyweight Championship inside the Year of Living Dangerously match.
In one year, 2000, The CPW held ITST during three months (June, July and August) due to incredible popularity and response, even though it was still called In The Summer Time 5.
The twelfth installment was held on August 25, 2007 in Columbia, South Carolina. The thirteenth installment was announced on October 6, 2007 at Fight Fest. It will be held in Savannah, Georgia.
Year of Living Dangerously Match
The main feature of most In The Summer Time PPV's is the Year of Living Dangerously match which is a Covered Caged pool wrestling match, in which the participants are looking to be the only person left on a floating mattress when time expires in the match. In the match no hold are barred, and no pins/submissions are allowed. Only way to win is to be the only person on the mattress in the pool, when time expires. If both participants are on the mattress, the first one on the mattress first is declared the winner. Ties in time got on the mattress, rules in favor of the champion (since all YOLD matches are with a title on the line).
Although, the match is mostly held at ITST, it is also held during other CPW events.
