[edit] History
[edit] Training and pre-debut
Jeff Andrews was part of a group of friends that all got into wrestling. This group included his girlfriend Heidi, with whom he'd have a tumultunous relationship while in wrestling, and a good friend named Kai Scott.
When Andrews graduated from high school, he ended up going to Mexico to train to wrestle, as he was too small for the American promoters to want to work with him (6 ft 2, 221 lbs at the time). He and Heidi took turns putting each other through Cito Conarri's wrestling school in Tijuana, Mexico.
After they both graduated, they went back to the USA. Andrews teamed up with Kai Scott (who had managed to find training in the US) as "The Alternative", with Heidi acting as a valet since not many feds at the time had active woman's divisions. They had a decent run on the small indies until a severe knee injury took Kai out of the game for years. Andrews floated around the indy scene aimlessly until he was discovered by The Keep It Real Kid, a promoter of a fairly large london based fed called LBWF.
[edit] LBWF
Andrews arrived in the Lilsboys Wrestling Federation as Jeffy Andrews, accompanied by his girlfriend and fellow wrestler Heidi. He joined the heel stable The Capitalist Corporation Conspiracy, and won the LBWF Intercontinental Title as a member. He dropped the title to Mr. Dude, starting a rivalry between the two that would last for four years and only ended when Dude left the business in 2005. After the CCC broke up, Andrews moved on to the main event scene, feuding with LBWF top draw Crippler. Andrews would win the LBWF Title from Crippler, turning face in the process. He would lose the title to Big D, defeat D in a rematch to win the title, and ultimately vacate it, becoming a two time LBWF Champion.
As top face in the LBWF, Andrews found himself in constant conflict with LBWF President Rooser the Bruiser. Andrews felt that Rooser was holding him back and trying to make him look bad. Rooser, for his part, claimed that Andrews' ego was out of control. In response to Rooser's badgering, Andrews created his stable The Youngbloods, consisting of Mr. Dude as his second in command, Heidi, Dawn, Hawk, Kai Scott, Danny Vicious and Adam Delicious. The Youngbloods participated in a three way stable war, against Big D's "The Brotherhood" and Brandon Pride's "Violence Inc". The war never ended conclusively, although The Brotherhood picked up the majority of the wins.
LBWF was announced to be closing, and the wrestlers decided to stick together. Andrews, Big D and Max Bryant, as the veterans of LBWF, were asked to lead the new fed, and Andrews was selected by D and Bryant as the President. Bryant convinced Andrews that he needed to turn on Heidi to do his job. In an incident that would mark the rest of his career, Andrews smashed a kendo stick over her head two cards before LBWF closed its doors.
[edit] IWA 2001
Andrews, Bryant and D split the IWA 40/30/30, and formed an alliance called the Three Man Power Trip. Andrews tripped more than the others. Breaking away from Bryant and D, Andrews built a stable called The Unforgiven, and used it to torment Mr. Dude and the remnants of the Youngbloods. Dude retaliated by combining the Youngbloods and Violence Inc into "The Untouchables". Andrews became so out of control that Max and D turned on him, and Andrews retaliated by running D out of the fed. But thanks to Max's careful planning, D's 30% share went not to Andrews, but his arch-rival Mr. Dude. A few weeks later, Andrews' own stable turned on him, siding with Max Bryant and turning Andrews face.
In October of 2001, IWA put on a Pay Per View called "Outrage", that featured a four way cage match for the IWA World Title between Daeriq Damien (the champion), Canadian Psycho, Max Bryant and Andrews. Andrews won the match when he hit C.Psycho with his "Back To The Future" finisher on the roof of the cage, sending the men through the cage AND mat. But while the fans were happy to cheer for him, his former friends, the ones he had turned on months earlier, were not. Andrews found himself completely isolated.
[edit] IWA 2002
Andrews went into overwhelming depression, and sold his 40% share of IWA to Blade Entertainment. BE sent a man named Alexander Zanatos to work with IWA, and Zanatos inexplicably turned on Andrews, driving his feud with Mr. Dude to a new level. Andrews dropped the IWA Heavyweight Title to Freddy Phoenix. Finally, he ended up in a career vs career match against Dude, which he lost.
Andrews went to a fed called NWCW, but was only there for a few weeks. He then attempted suicide, broadcasting the attempt on television. He attempted to shoot himself with a cougar magnum, but the bullet exploded in the gun barrel, leaving him alive, but with half of his face scarred. He would be out of action for six months recovering.
With Andrews out of the picture, his ex-girlfriend Heidi was tearing down walls, beating male wrestlers of all kinds, and had managed to put herself in contendership for the CAL World Title. The night she got the shot, in a six way ladder match, Andrews made his return, attempting to help her - but his efforts were thwarted by Daeriq Damien, igniting the long standing blood feud between them.
[edit] IWA 2003
Andrews finally found support from an unexpected source - Ronnie Long. Long had been a rank and file member of The Unforgiven, and had been fired for coming down with a back injury. But Long himself had changed during that time, and he and Andrews formed a team called The Outcasts. In January 2003, they got revenge on Daeriq Damien in a brutal fashion, wrapping him in a bodybag and throwing him off the roof of the IWA Arena into a garbage truck. Their tag career never really took off, however - fans didn't buy Long as "worthy" of teaming with a legend like Andrews.
Andrews' career went in a wildly different direction in 2003. The CAL Presidency had bounced around between several wrestling personalities, before finally settling with Sam Carnage back in the fall of 2002. But the CAL's Canada-based territory, Northern Pro Wrestling, was leaving the CAL, and Carnage had opted to go with them. He handed the CAL Presidency to Jeff Andrews.
Andrews put his wrestling career on hold and addressed the CAL. But while Sam Carnage was good at diplomacy, Andrews not only was poor at it, but proud of this. While some fans and many wrestlers approved of his blunt, take-no-shit management style, his fellow executives hated him. Andrews would spend more time as CAL President arguing with the executive board than actually running the CAL, and in fact was nearly impeached on one occasion. None the less, some say he helped to save the CAL in the wake of NPW's departure, and that without him, the CAL would have died then.
[edit] IWA 2004
In 2004, Andrews was in an extended political battle with Angelina Bishop and Kurt Richards, both affiliated with NPW (the CAL territory that had departed to go national). Richards wanted to merge NPW back into the CAL, and Bishop wanted NPW to swallow up the CAL. Andrews ended up defending the CAL in the ring, teaming with his old friend and fanatical CAL-hater Kai Scott.
It was a swerve, though. Bishop, all along, wanted control of the interfed CAL, rather than the single fed NPW. She obtained the 51% share of IWA from Set Malachai and Brandon Pride (IWA was now split in ownership 49/49/2 between Set Malachai, Dawn and Brandon Pride), and traded it to Andrews for the CAL Presidency. Andrews was back in control of the fed he had created. He reunited his old friends and started a stable called The Andrews Foundation - it consisted of Heidi, Kai Scott and Ronnie Long, as well as Jeff himself. Meanwhile, Angelina Bishop closed NPW and handed the roster to Kurt Richards, who opened a territory called Canadian Rockies Wrestling.
Only THIS was a swerve - against Angelina Bishop. NPW had widely been considered the CAL's top fed, but most IWA fans considered that IWA was equal to, if not better, than NPW. And before Angie had allowed Andrews in on the scheme, he'd developed a hatred of her. As soon as he had his controlling share of IWA, he retaliated by withdrawing it from the CAL. But Bishop got the last laugh. The CAL owned IWA's bookings and arena deals, and when Andrews withdrew IWA, all he took with him were the contracts. He had nowhere to hold shows and no way to pay his wrestlers. Andrews managed to avoid bankruptcy by selling the contracts to various other federations, but he did have to close IWA.
The swerve had one further negative effect on Andrews career - it utterly alienated any support he'd once had in the CAL, and no promoters were willing to hire him. Andrews would disappear from the wrestling scene. Sort of.
[edit] CRW 2004
Towards the end of 2004, a man named Ultra Raptor made a shocking appearance in Kurt Richards' CRW. And he did it in shocking fashion, brutally attacking CRW wrestler Loki, shattering his wrist. It was puzzling, because Raptor was a well known Japanese wrestler, known around the world as a 'true face', and this was completely out of character for him.
At this point in time, CRW was the "chosen fed" of the CAL. And the newcomer fed Old Line Wrestling didn't approve of being treated by Bishop like a second class citizen. Led by the 6 ft 7, 286 lb Cole Christenson, OLW did what no other CAL Territory could do - stayed stable despite Bishop's attempts to keep them from growing too strong, and soon presented an immense threat not just to CRW's position as CAL's top fed, but Bishop's authority within the CAL.
Raptor aligned himself with Kurt Richards. Richards attempted to put together a stable, but failed, as wrestlers quit unexpectedly. Ultra Raptor, though, stayed put, and continued to win matches, eventually winning the CRW Canadian Heritage Title (the fed's upper midcard title). He graduated to main legbreaker of Richards', and was put in contendership for the CAL World Title.
[edit] 2005
At Reindeer Games IV, which didn't take place until March of '05, Raptor went into The Match Beyond against 7 other wrestlers. And he walked out with the CAL World Title, in a truly ironic fashion... Angelina Bishop had hired Heidi to make sure Raptor won. In the ring against Cole Christenson himself, Raptor was losing until Heidi entered the ring through the mat and hit Cole in the head with a bo staff. The two handcuffed him to the cage and Raptor delivered kick after kick into his head. Cole, amazingly, managed to snap the handcuffs, but Raptor, with a well timed low kick, debuted the DromaeoDriver to pin Cole and win the CAL World Title.
CRW, and the CAL itself for that matter, was in an unhealthy state. The CAL was taking too long to put its shows on, and new wrestlers were not coming. CRW was in shambles by the time RDGIV aired, and was eventually swallowed by OLW in a way too convoluted to explain here. With a choice between joining new promotion PCW, and his enemy federation OLW, Raptor went to PCW.
Raptor was followed to PCW by Heidi, who was now acting as the commissioner of OLW. Raptor had not defended the CAL World Title, and had flat out ignored the top contender TJ Killingbeck. Heidi attempted to drag a response out of him, but instead, Raptor lashed out at her, blaming her for everything that had gone wrong with his career. The argument quickly turned violent, and only got worse when PCW closed, dumping Raptor in OLW. Eventually, Raptor and Heidi ended up booked against each other in a mask vs career match, the same night Raptor was to give Killingbeck his long denied CAL World Title shot.
During the match with Heidi, the mask was ripped in half. Raptor unmasked to the surprise of many as Jeff Andrews, and promptly laid Heidi out with a superkick for the win. The win was overturned by Kai Scott, who pointed out that Heidi's career was on the line against Ultra Raptor, not Jeff Andrews, and so the stipulation was null and void. More irate than ever, Andrews went into his title defens against Killingbeck. Various wrestlers whom he'd injured during his CRW rampage showed up during the match to prevent interference, Heidi prevented him from hitting Killingbeck with the CAL World Title, and Killingbeck walked away with the title, although he needed two shooting star presses and a shooting star elbow drop to keep Andrews down.
After being unmasked, it came out that the reason Andrews had wrestled as Ultra Raptor, aside from using it as a way to sneak back into the CAL, was that the REAL Ultra Raptor, a man named Paco Losantio who'd trained with him back in Mexico, had loaned him the gimmick, partly as a favor and partly to establish the name of Ultra Raptor in North America. His cover blown, he started going by "Jeff" instead of "Jeffy" for the first time.
[edit] OLW
The first thing Andrews did after losing the CAL World Title and unmasking was begin to take steroids heavily. He put on somewhere around 30 pounds of muscle, going from a standard competitive weight of 221 lbs up to 256 lbs. Unfortunately, he was still adjusting to his new frame when he got his rematch against Killingbeck. He lost this rematch.
Andrews scraped together an old school IWA and LBWF stable in the OLW, calling it The Unforgiven II. It contained his old rivals Big D and Mr. Dude, the latter now working under his real name Chris Redpath, as well as Danny Vicious, Impact, the real Ultra Raptor, and Yaz Illika. And the manager, the new OLW Commissioner, and his old boss from the LBWF, Richard "Keep It Real Kid" Bernstein.
However, instead of going after the OLW Title, Andrews teamed with Raptor and Illika in OLW's trios tag division. Andrews' feud with Heidi went on the back burner, and in the team, Andrews ended up overshadowed by the charismatic and psychotic Yaz Illika (who later renamed to Yoshikazu YAZ).
The Unforgiven II faltered quickly. Redpath was fired within 2 cards for failing to show, and KIRK brought the OLW Champion, Avarice, into the fold, demoting Andrews from stable crown jewel to rank and filer. Andrews and Avarice did not get along, and to further the problem, YAZ decided to cast his loyalties with Avarice instead of Andrews. The Unforgiven II splintered into factions, with Andrews, Vicious and Losantio forming the rebel faction, and Avarice, Big D, Impact and YAZ forming the authority-backed faction. KIRK then demoted Andrews again, making YAZ the leader of the team. Andrews for his part, refused to quit TU2, insisting that it was his stable and he'd keep using the name until he didn't want to anymore. Losantio allowed his OLW contract to run out and left, feeling he'd been treated badly by management, and Andrews and Vicious formed a two man alliance that saw both men gain some popularity as take-no-flack rebels.
Eventually Avarice fired KIRK and replaced him as commissioner, and quietly released Andrews, hoping that Andrews would decide to do nothing. But instead, Andrews enlisted the help of Avarice's ex wife to wrangle himself a shot at Avarice's OLW Heavyweight Title. The match ended with Andrews getting DQed after Kai Scott interfered, kicking Avarice in the head. Later on the card, Andrews attempted to interfere in the War Games main event. But OLW had assigned his old rival Freddy Phoenix as a ringside enforcer, and even with the return of Ronnie Long and a pair of wire cutters, Andrews was unable to break into the cage.
Scott's interference in Andrews' title match was a precursor to the Untouchables reforming, as on the next card, Andrews teamed with Long and Vicious against Cole Christenson, Heidi and Adam Delicious. Scott's arrival saw him kick Andrews in the head, disqualifying Christenson's team, but this was just a front, as the verbal arguing between Scott and Andrews abruptly turned into a beatdown.
Scott left the Untouchables fairly abruptly, and Andrews stepped back from the front lines to give Vicious a chance to chase the OLW Heavyweight Title, which he did succesfully. Andrews primarily focused on committing random acts of mayhem and violence. He and Long dabbled in the WWA's tag team division as well, though they didn't put forward enough of a concentrated effort to climb the rankings much. Then Scott formed a rival Untouchables team with Heidi and Adam Delicious. The Untouchables AVL would feud with the Untouchables KHA until OLW abruptly closed in September 2008.
[edit] Post OLW
Andrews disappeared for a few months, checking himself into rehab with the intent of both ending his growing addiction to alcohol, and ending the usage of steroids while monitoring his health. Back to his natural weight, he resurfaced in International Influence, a WWA territory that opened on OLW's closing and where a number of other OLW wrestlers had shown up.
Although still violent and vicious, Andrews has begun to display some of his old, face-ish traits. Currently walking "the darkest edge of tweener", Andrews describes himself as a heel who hates the other heels more than the faces. His nasty streak and foul temper, however, make him few friends on either side. Surprisingly perhaps, Andrews has been around for long enough that he has a bit of a cult following, who believe that whatever he does, it's ok, because he's Jeff Goddamn Andrews and everything he does is automatically instant awesome.

[edit] Trivia
- Jeff Andrews is the one and only wrestling personality who has been affiliated with the Coalition of Affiliated Leagues non-stop since the day it opened.
- Although Jeff Andrews is considered one of Cito Conarri's students, he didn't actually graduate Conarri's training school, leaving 2 years ahead of schedule to begin wrestling.
- Jeff trained his cousin Brad Andrews to wrestle. He hasn't trained anybody else.
- After Andrews and Scott formed the tag team The Alternative, Jeff's cousins Brad Andrews and Miah DeVan formed a tag team called Alternative 2.0. Because of this, when Andrews and Scott reunited, they went by The Andrews Foundation rather than by The Alternative.
- Andrews wrestles as a heel. To avoid being cheered as a hometown hero, he bills himself from Wildwood, New Jersey, rather than from Baltimore.
