Before the Fame

Christina Jewel Rodriguez was born on February 23rd 1981. She was raised by her parents Janet and Joseph Rodriguez in a small house in Staten Island, New York. Jewel is the eldest of three children; her sister Chelsea Jade Rodriguez is 24 years old and her younger brother Christopher Jet Rodriguez is 20 years old. Jewel would most often be found playing with her younger siblings, generally in the form of wrestling.

Jewel was 6 years of age when she witnessed her first wrestling match and instantly knew what she wanted to do when she grew up. Jewel watched Survivor Series in 1987 and saw the Fabulous Moolah, Velvet McIntyre, Rockin' Robin, and the Jumping Bomb Angels face the Women's Champion Sherri Martel and her team, Leilani Kai, Judy Martin, Donna Christanello and Dawn Marie. Since this day, Jewel has always wanted to be a professional wrestler.

Jewel was the best wrestler on the women's wrestling team throughout high school. Jewel would train for hours and hours almost every day to become the best that she could be. After completing high school, Jewel desperately needed money and began searching around for a job. Jewel worked in a bar to earn some money for about two years before she tried finding a career path that suited what she had been wanting to do for her whole life.

Jewel was approached by many wrestling organizations, but all of them wanted her for her body, not her talent; so she declined all of their requests. Jewel continued training, hoping one day to receive an offer that she couldn't resist... and it came!

Debut Night... In a Locker Room???

The contract outlined that Jewel's first appearance on televised XWE programming would take place at XWE's November Pay Per View: Havoc, and then after the PPV, Jewel would continue her career on the Aggression brand.
