Redemption was an e-wrestling pay-per-view presented by Lords of Pain Wrestling under its Inferno brand. The event took place on July 22, 2008 at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. It marked Inferno's final show before LPW's premiere pay-per-view, Altered Reality 4: Champion vs. Champion.

At Dead Reckoning, Drew Michaels completed his quest of defeating arch-rival D. Hammond Samuels for the LPW International Heavyweight Championship. While Michaels celebrated with the Inferno locker room, number one contender Wevv Mang (who had defeated Sheepster earlier in the night) spectated from the entrance ramp.

At Inferno 12.1, general manager Spectre announced he would be temporarily leaving the show to be by the side of his lovely assistant, Satisfaction, who had been badly burned by cYnical at Dead Reckoning. Spectre put backstage interviewer, Sara St. James, in charge. However, cYnical attacked St. James and took over as GM himself.

With three men claiming a title shot to Michaels' title (Samuels wanted a rematch, Mang was the number one contender, and Sheepster had been waiting three years for his guaranteed title shot), cYnical booked Michaels with Samuels in a tag team match against Mang and Sheepster. After Inferno 12.3, it was further announced that Samuels had been dropped from teh championship match, making it a triple threat match.
