MFGG Internet Championship

MFGG Internet Championship belt (November 6, 2006-Present)

The MFGG Internet Championship is a championship currently defended in MFGG Wrestling. It was inspired by the now-defunct WCW Television Championship.

[edit] History

From August to October 2006, MFGG had three singles titles and a tag team title. When MFGG's two world-level titles were unified to form the Undisputed World Championship, the e-fed featured only two singles titles. On October 31, MFGG booker Captain Jeff Silvers announced the creation of the Internet Championship, a new title that would serve as a stepping stone to the Undisputed World Championship and share second-tier status with the MFGG SoVeryHardcore Championship. An eight-man tournament began the next day, culminating at (appropriately enough) MFGG Error 404. Julio Cesar F defeated Press Start in the final match of the tournament to become the first holder of the new title.

Though the title was hotly contested and switched hands several times, it was not until Dark Yoshi won the title in December 2006 that major interest began to build around it. Most of that interest was centered around Julio Cesar F's desire to hold the belt. At the time, Dark Yoshi and Cesar F were teammates in The Ultimate Legion. Cesar F's obsession with winning the title (and his claim to be its rightful holder) caused such a rift between the two that Dark Yoshi left the group. Cesar F would eventually win the title from Dark Yoshi.
