Manami Toyama (富山 マナミ Toyama Manami, born March 19, 1971) is a retired female Japanese professional wrestler best known by her ring name Miss Manami, is known for her work with the original Lethal Angels of Wrestling (LAW), NEO Joshi Japan and becoming the co-founder of Joshi Extreme Takeover (JET). After leading a mass exodus to form JET, Toyama would make sporadic appearances for small Joshi promotions such as Platinum Joshi, and even spending time with American juggernaut promotion, Elite Answers Wrestling. Currently, she is working for Omega Wrestling Alliance's Odyssey brand as a backstage agent, producer, and trainer for Omega Wrestling Tomorrow.

She is dubbed as The Goddess of Puroresu and for many as the greatest Joshi of all time.

Legacy[]

Toyama's legacy is huge in Japan, many see her as the woman to have changed the wrestling landscape alongside Madam Vega and many others. For many, she is considered the greatest of all time. Manami's protege, Azumi Goto dubbed her mentor as "The Icon that could get anyone into wrestling". Former rival and tag partner, Hanako Nakamoto called Manami "the only person who made wrestling look easy and the best performer even in her 40s".

As of 2018, JET celebrates the career of Manami with their Goddess Dream event, a reference to her nickname as the Goddess of Puroresu. The show is set to take place every year in Toyama's home prefecture of Shimane.
