New ERA International Intrigue is a former pay per view, and current "premier event" from New ERA of Wrestling. The first, and so far only, event took place on June 20, 2005 from the Molson Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The event was originally supposed to be New ERA's "international" pay per view, however after the introduction of New ERA BANNED in the US, the event was retired. After the disintegration of the WFW:NE, the league formed when New ERA merged with WFW, New ERA officials announced that it would be keeping both BANNED in the US and International Intrigue in the pay per view rotation. International Intrigue was to remain the "international" pay per view event, whereas BANNED in the US would become a more traditional pay per view event. Under the second iteration of New ERA, International Intrigue will be the premier event of a truncated season taking place in Montreal.
Differences Between Pay Per View and Premier Event[]
Prior to 2011, New ERA of Wrestling ran television shows and pay per view events nation-wide. When the league returned from closure in January 2011, the operating budget was tightened. New ERA of Wrestling runs as a regional-promotion, operating out of Boston, Massachusetts. With the advent of seasons, New ERA runs five webisodes of the New ERA Cyberstrike program. Premier events are the sixth, and final, show of the season and air on ESENtv.

The pay per view featured nine matches, including the finals of the New ERA PRODIGY© Classic Xtreme Championship tournament. The Phantom Republican, who wrestled in the first match of the evening, also surprised the entire wrestling world by coming out to wrestle in the main event. "Gentleman" Jonathan Marx was originally scheduled to be in the main event, however the Phantom Republican attacked him during the show and bound him to a chair in order to take his spot in the match. An enraged Marx freed himself and stormed to the ring as the pay per view went off the air.
