Omega Wrestling Alliance (OWA for short) is an e-federation formed by Blake Verble in early January 2001. OWA was strictly a roleplay federation, with occasional angles. The federation ran on Yahoo! Clubs, and later, Yahoo! Groups, although in some runs had a website off the group. Several handlers who would go on to become notable off Yahoo! started out in the federation. OWA is now revamped and now run by Maximillion Pegasus as of January 2007.
History of OWA
Edit
OWA was founded by Blake Verble in January 2001, and had its first show on the 5th of January. The federation had one show, OWA Thursday Night Turbo, which at one point was ran on a Tuesday. Pay-per-views were rare, and took place on Sundays. Unlike most federations, OWA had the same main handler and wrestler group throughout all of its runs. Wrestlers such as Donny Diamond, DJ Cool and Billy McStoner all had successful runs in the federation a long time before they joined more established, wider-reaching federations. Over the course of the two year existance other recurring wrestlers included Karl Zarn, Axel and Ace Action (aka Action Packed), Eli the Eliminator and Akira Razor. OWA was, at one point, ran by David Hedley until Verble requested power back. The final run was in September 2002, when the federation merged with the Extreme Wrestling Federation (EWF) after multiple cards with only one or two roleplays being posted. The federation has not returned since. OWA was reformed by Maximillion Pegasus on October 1st, 2008. Details are still unknown at this time. OWA will be expected to brake away from EWF is due time. On October 16, 2008, the OWA withdrew from EWF.
