Revolution Pro (REV~Pro) is an independent wrestling promotion based out of New England that holds shows all over the United States and Canada. It had no set weekly show, but show names and venues vary from Bars to military bases to state fairs to concert halls, and other unique venues.
On October 25th, 2008, after a mutiny against owner George Prax backstage and having had their roster decimated by quittings, firings and injuries, George Prax decided to close REV~Pro's doors. While George Prax did not say REV~Pro would be dead forever, insiders and close friends believe that Mr. Prax will NOT re-open REV~Pro or a new promotion for a long time.
However, in mid June of 2009, in an unprecedented move, George Prax returned to the promoting world and decided to re-open REV~Pro's doors, and he does so with the return of former REV~Pro Main Eventers Ace Cannon, Windy Bridges, The Virus, and REV~Pro World Champion THK, among others.
The first show back is scheduled for July 29th, on REV~Pro's one year anniversary, and will be entitled Unfinished Business, where the long awaited world title ladder match between Ace Cannon and THK over the REV~pro world title will take place.
[edit] History
Revolution Pro was formed by investor and former MMAer George Prax on July 29th, 2008, after Mr. Prax returned from his exile in Burma, after his failed attempt to establish a wrestling promotion and take over Mayhem Wrestling Entertainment with his elite group of professional wrestlers in Wrestling Alliance Revenge.
[edit] REV~Pro 1: Threshold to Glory
REV~Pro gathered wrestlers for their first show on August 8th, 2008, Threshold to Glory. In reference to both the Olympics and MWE, a torch runner named Montel W. Engels passed the torch George Prax in front of an outdoor crowd in Springfield, Illinois at the Illinois State fair. This ceremony was followed by the quarter-finals to an 8 person tournament for the REV~Pro world championship. Nicki, Trance, THK and Jason Anthony advanced to round 2. Making their debuts were The Virus, attacking Trance, as well as a masked man attacking Ace Cannon and Dick Malibu. The main event saw Windy Bridges pinning Arch Angel in a "One Night Only" "George Prax Original".
[edit] REV~Pro 2: REVElations
At the next show, REVelations on August 20th, 2008, the semi-finals for the tournament were held, and Jason Anthony and THK beat Trance and Nicki, respectively, to advance to the finals. Paige, furious over her humiliating loss to Nicki, attacked her after her match with THK, and tortured her all night, eventually setting her ablaze after purposely causing her ambulance to be in the center of a pile-up on a busy Dallas street (the site of REVelations). In the main event of the show, Joey Dallas revealed himself as the masked man who attacked Ace Cannon and Dick Malibu and defeated Ace Cannon, after interference from D.C.
[edit] REV~Pro 3: BRAWL at the Mall
At REV~Pro's third show at the Mall of America, Brawl at the Mall, on August 30th, 2008 THK and Jason Anthony signed their championship contract. George Prax enlisted The Virus to take care of Paige, and as he was about to throw her off a ledge, Trance saved Paige by hitting his finisher on The Virus. Later, Trance would be attacked by the Virus's father ("Outlaw" Randy Roberts) after losing to Ace Cannon (who pulled out his first victory in REV~Pro). George Prax would go on to book The Virus vs. Trance in a grudge match at the fourth super-show, New York Fever. In the main event of the show, Sick Addiction (D.C. and Windy Bridges), teamed up for the first time since Apocalyptic Enigmar Wrestling against The Maxx and The Grand Mystique, in a match that saw D.C. brawl with Ace Cannon, leaving Windy to fend for himself. Windy eventually lost the match, being pinned by GM.
After the match, GM and Maxx brawled out of the arena and D.C. came back down to the ring, where he proceeded to turn on Windy, informing him of his actions in MWE against Brian Michaels, and proceeding to pummel him and hit him with his finishers and weapons and throw him off the ledge of the second story of the mall, along with Paige.
Since the show, D.C. has been banned from REV~Pro.
[edit] REV~Pro 4: New York Fever
At New York Fever at the Hammerstein Ballroom, Jeff "THK" Jordan made history by becoming the first ever REV~Pro world heavyweight champion, defeating Jason Anthony in a marathon match that many are calling a match of the year candidate.
Also at New York Fever, a budding friendship continued to develop as Joey Dallas saved Windy Bridges from certain doom, during the broadcast premiere of The Dotted line, the talk show of the (S)aintz of Los Angelez (The Shiz and the Biz), when Shiz and Biz attempted to attack the injured superstar. Later on, a match between the two teams was announced and Joey and Windy were officially christened the Redneck Express.
Finally, Trance's and Virus's feud finally came to a head, as Virus pinned Trance in their first match against one another.
[edit] REV~Pro 5: Extreme Consequences
At Extreme consequences, THK will make his first speech since winning the championship.
Also, The Virus and Ace Cannon will square off in a cage to determine the Number one contender to THK's title, in a match that has gone through two other opponents for Cannon. First, it was supposed to be D.C., then, Paige, but both were unable to compete in the match due to unforeseen circumstances.
[edit] REV~Pro 6: Southern Crossroads
After problems and rescheduling, Southern Crossroads finally took place on October 12th at the NorVA in Norfolk, Virginia. To open the show, THK upset Kanto when Ace Cannon accidentally punted Kanto instead of THK (non-title match).
In the main event, the Virus buried Paige in a Buried in a Casket match, and proceeded to blow up the grave. Paige has since been presumed dead, but no body was discovered.
The Young guns cup qualifiers also continued in several matches.
[edit] Mutiny, Controversy and Closure
In mid-October, it was announced that several superstars and backstage officials from REV~Pro decided to attempt a mutiny against George Prax, and all proceeded to jump ship to MWE. Included in the list were Joey Dallas, Number one contender to THK's title Ace Cannon, EW Champion Maxamillion Mustafa, as well as REV's head writer and one of its head bookers.
REV~Pro, its fans, staff and remaining superstars took the news poorly, however decided to stick at it, rescheduling Clash at the Beach, announcing a new main event (The Virus vs. THK for the World Championship), and re-organizing staff and the organizational layout. However, the tension with MWE and the deserters proved to be too much for everyone. Several superstars decided to quit the promotion. Delays and more infighting continued to be persistent.
Eventually, George Prax decided it was enough, and closed REV~Pro's doors only two days before the New Clash at the Beach was scheduled to go on air.
[edit] Return of REV~Pro
After Deliberation and discussion, George Prax, along with his advisors, has decided to re-open REV~Pro, at least for one show in Late July. Once that show goes down, a decision will be made whether it would be appropriate to keep rev~pro open.
[edit] REV~Pro 7: Unfinished Business
Rev~Pro returns on it's one year anniversary, July 29th, 2009. Only 3 matches have been announced for this show. James Young vs. Windy Bridges, The Virus vs. Sonny Williams in a number one contender's match, and REV~Pro World Champion THK vs. Ace Cannon in a Ladder match for the championship. As always, expect good wrestling as well as some unexpected occurrences.
[edit] Broadcasting
REV~Pro does not run normal weekly or bi-weekly television programming, nor Monthly Pay-per-views, however, it broadcasts Super-Shows live on its website at uneven intervals (normally 7 to 10 days), all over the US and Canada in different venues, with different show names.
