Ryan Extreme (born July 2, 1980), is a semi-retired professional wrestler best known for his appearances for Extreme World Wrestling (EWW) between 2002 and 2003.

Early life[]

Ryan grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, becoming harden from the gang violence in his neighborhood. He would end up joining a wrestling team and martial arts classes to let out his frustration and to help protect himself. He would lean towards wrestling over martial arts, and excelled. After graduating high school Ryan immediately started training for the ring.

Wrestling career[]

Debut & Fans Championship Wrestling (2000)[]

Ryan's exact debut is unknown, but his earliest confirmed appearances were for the now defunct Fan's Championship Wrestling (FCW). Ryan debut there in the summer of 2000. He quickly garnered immediate attention and moved up the ranks quick. He would eventually become notorious for throwing a man off a twenty foot high cell through a barbwire table ending the man's career. Ryan Extreme would then go onto feud with Mike Mahoney before becoming the FCW World Heavyweight Champion. Ryan Extreme would lose the title to Mike Mahoney fueling their feud. At this point the FCW was rebranded as Extreme World Wrestling (EWW). Ryan would win back the FCW World Heavyweight Championship at this time being called the EWW World Heavyweight Championship. The rebranding was very short-lived and the FCW/EWW would close its doors only weeks later.

World Internet Wrestling League (2001)[]

Sometime in 2001 Ryan Extreme would join the World Internet Wrestling League. He would very quickly rise through the ranks becoming the Hardcore Champion and then garnering the World Championship which were held simultaneously. After pressure from the company Ryan would lose the Hardcore Title and then be thrown out of the WIWL as their World Champion. It has often been said by Ryan himself that he was far too extreme for the WIWL and they just couldn't handle it.

Extreme World Wrestling (2002-2003)[]

Extreme World Wrestling would be reincarnated and officially opened it's doors on January 1, 2002. EWW would be back with lots of monetary assets and would quickly garner attention for their lavish events. On January 7, 2002 the EWW would host it's inaugural show with a 8 man single elimination tournament to crown the first EWW World Heavyweight Champion. After advancing through the first and semi-final rounds, Ryan Extreme would pin Chase Mullins in the finals to become the first EWW World Heavyweight Champion.

At the EWW's first pay per view event Ring Riot, Ryan Extreme would successfully defend the World Heavyweight Title for the first time by defeating Chase Mullins in an extreme rules match. Also at that same event Striker would win the Ring Riot Match to earn himself the right to face Ryan Extreme for the World Heavyweight Title at the promotions biggest event of the year, WrestleFest.

Ryan Extreme would face Striker for the EWW World Heavyweight Championship in the main event at Wrestlefest, and would be successful in retaining the title. Two nights later on EWW's primary show, Warfare, Ryan Extreme would once again defend the title against Chase Mullin. This time Chase Mullin would be successful and after using some underhand tactics would defeat Ryan Extreme ending his two month reign as champion. After this vicious attack Ryan Extreme would take significant time off.

Five months later in the summer of 2002, two masked men made several attacks on EWW superstars. At EWW's SummerBrawl pay per view event it was revealed who these two masked characters were as they were set to take on the EWW Extreme Tag Team Champions, The Legion (Deathman & Nightmare). The men turned out to be Ryan Extreme and long time partner and childhood friend Michael "Giant" Reed known collectively as The Renegades. The Renegades would go on to defeat The Legion and become the new EWW Extreme Tag Team Champions.

The Renegades would go onto defend their titles multiple times before being defeated for them three months later at the EWW PPV event part of the ongoing In Your Face series, subtitled Pure Talent Inc. which was named after the dominant faction at the time.

In January at Ring Riot 2003, The Renegades would win the World Tag Team Titles by defeating Hardkore Krazyness. The Renegades would then pledge allegiance to the infamous stable Pure Talent Inc. (PTI).

The Renegades would continue to dominate the tag team scene, while Ryan Extreme also got notable attention as a singles wrestler. In June 2003, Ryan Extreme would advance all the way to the finals of the EWW's second annual Champion Of Wrestling tournament, he would be defeated by fellow PTI member Matt Hodges. This would prove to be the EWW's last pay per view event. Though the event was critically acclaimed and considered by many to be the best EWW events in its history, it was a financial lost and one of the last gasp of the EWW. A pay per view was scheduled for the next month, but the promotion would bankrupt before it was to take place. This left many wrestlers with no home including Ryan Extreme.

MWA (2004)[]

After a lengthy stint on the sidelines, Ryan Extreme would return to full-time action as a member of the promotion Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Alliance (MWA). Within weeks Ryan Extreme would dominate by winning the MWA'S European Cruiserweight Title in a fourway ladder match. Ryan Extreme would then go onto win the 2003 Super J-Crown tournament earning him a shot at the MWA's World Heavyweight Champion. However he would never receive his title match leaving the company not long after winning the tournament and going into semi-retirement.

Ryan was born in Baltimore, MD, he has been a longtime wrestling fan and constant supporter of his hometown of Baltimore. He is a long time friend of fellow wrestler and tag partner Michael Reed.
