Sayako Okamoto (高田さやか Takada Sayako, nee Takada, born March 30, 1986), better known by her ring name Saya Takada, is a Japanese ring announcer, gravure idol, and former professional wrestler currently signed to Strong Style Wrestling.

Early Life[]

Takada was born and raised in Saitama's Chūō-ku ward. She is the only child of Keiji Takada, a conductor on the East Japan Railway Company, and Hikari Takada, an exhibit curator at the Saitama Museum of Modern Art. She graduated from high school in 2004 and subsequently attended Kokusai Gakuin Saitama Junior College, from which she graduated in 2006 with a degree in mathematics.

Professional Wrestling Career[]

Japanese Wrestling Puro; Joshi Extreme Takeover (2005 - 2008; 2010 - 2017)[]

Takada attended a Japanese Wrestling Puro (JWP) live event in Yokohama in February 2005. Interested in becoming a wrestler, she began her training in the promotion's dojo the following month. Before Takada ever actually made her in-ring debut for the promotion, she was, in her words "talent-poached" by the upstart all-women's promotion Joshi Extreme Takeover in January 2006 and spent the next few months furthering her training under Miss Manami. Under the name Saya Takada, she made her debut at the promotion's first event, Rise to New Beginnings, on May 13 at Korakuen Hall.

Lucha del Campeonato Supremo (2008 - 2010)[]

In early 2008, Takada was sent on a customary "young lioness' excursion" as a part of the talent exchange program between JET and Mexico City-based LCS. She ended up staying for two years to hone her skills, becoming a one-time Campeonato de Mujeres and a one-time LCS Mixed Tag Team Champion with Jorge Estrada.

Pacific Wrestling Federation (2011 - 2015)[]

Strong Style Wrestling (2018 - present)[]

Takada's first post-retirement role came when she signed with Tokyo-based Strong Style Wrestling in January 2018. It was announced that she would serve as the promotion's primary ring announcer.

Personal Life[]

Takada met former JWP wrestler Raiden Okamoto in 2004 when he was just beginning his training and she hadn't yet begun. They eventually married in 2007. The couple has one son, Kenji, who was born in 2009. The family currently resides in Tokyo's Chiyoda ward.
