Early Career
Edit
Jesse Lewis first experienced into wrestling around the age of 9. He was a amateur wrestler in his high school, winning second place in his senior year. When he graduated high school in 1999, he decided to further his wrestling experience and turn professional. Though, he had no one to go to and eventually started to attend local independent promotions to seek guidance. He started to attend a independent promotion called Steel Championship Wrestling every Friday night, where he met a wrestler named Tracey "The Goon" Williams, asked for training. However, for three months Tracey denied. Finally after the fourth month, Tracey accepted.
Career
Edit
Steel Championship Wrestling (2000-2004)
Edit
Jesse Lewis started by going by his real name and won his first match. He started to show real talent against others, and eventually won his first tag-team champion later that year. A year later, he fought in his first cage match where he lost, but was credited by fans stating it was the match of the year. In 2002, he won the SCW Hardcore championship where he fought in a I-Quit match, which left both opponents very crippled for awhile. Sometime in that year, he had injured himself in a hardcore match (thus vacating the Hardcore Championship). He would go to be out of action for five months.
Lewis came back to SCW in early 2003, but as a heel with the name Jesse Stalin (the gimmick was a dictator). He gained a lot of heat with the crowd with his charisma, but it made people like his new style. He went on to win many tag-team championships, and had a shot of the World Heavyweight Champion, but lost the match. A year later, he fell ill with cancer and was forced to retire from the ring for awhile.
Comeback, and various independent promotions (2006-2009)
Edit
After two years of being out of action, he had overcame the cancer treatment and was treated successfully. He decided to not return to SCW for awhile, and wrestled around New York in various promotions under his real name. He only won one championship and that was a tag-team championship in 2008 in a promotion called Xtreme Matchup Wrestling.
Steel Championship Wrestling (2009-2012)
Edit
After being convinced to return, he decided to return to the ring to SCW. However, he did not want to return with his regular name. He then decided to go by his childhood nickname by his friends 'Spirit Z' which a name he received because he was full of spirit in what he did, and the Z represented his favorite letter. He came back as a face, and became a huge star.
After three years of wrestling in SCW, he won a few championships, but never won a heavyweight championship. In June of 2012, he had decided to further his wrestling to a higher promotion. He decided to retire from the independent circuit, and finding a tryout from another promotion.
Free Agent (June 2012)
Edit
They were reports by some local fans that that Jesse Lewis was trying out for the successful worldwide wrestling promotion True Honor Wrestling. These reports haven't been confirmed, but a fanmade site held a survey asking wrestling fans if they thought Spirit Z was in talks with THW. 84% of votes believed this was true, as of 16% did not believe this was true.

Debution
Edit
On July 1st, 2012. He signed a contract with True Honor Wrestling. He appeared at a THW House Show on July 8, 2012 in a interview stating about his debution match. He promised that he was going to win, and bring the heat. He debuted on THW's show Evolution on July 10, 2012 against Gael Jagielka and loss, only to be interrupted at the end of the match by Peter Davis. Peter had given his finisher to both superstars. Spirit Z, outraged by this, posted on his twitter a day later that someone needed to put Peter is in his place.
On July 16, 2012, Spirit Z had started a little fued with Brian Gun over Twitter. Spirit Z had stuck up for Harley St. James after Brian Gun had bashed her over the social network site. The whole night they had thrown comebacks after comebacks. A day later, he won his Over The Top Rope Match, but was attacked by five PCW wrestlers, but saved by other THW superstars. During that night, he chased down Peter Davis and finally got his revenge by Spirit Slamming him into a hot dog cart.
THW-PCW Invasion Era
Edit
On July 21, 2012 he and other THW superstars arrived at PCW's Saturday Rapture with Trent Walker. Letting him say his words, ended up having other PCW wrestlers come down and started a brawl with THW. Spirit Z left with a bruise on his forehead, but was forced (along with other THW superstars) to leave the building.
He faced 19 other superstars at Honor Role IV in a Extreme Battle Royal, winner for THW got a shot at the Evolution or International Championship for the next six months. He made history that night by elimanting the last contestant and to become the winner. His popularity rose from this point.
Word came out that he and Brian Gun didn't seem to be feuding as Spirit Z was beginning to show favoritism. Although, on August 5, 2012 it was indicated on his twitter that he showed no favoritism for Harley St. James anymore. However, he mentioned he wouldn't not go further with the bashing, for he has major respect for her boyfriend and fellow THW superstar Timothy Hunt.
Feud with Jakob Alexander
Edit
On Evolution three days later, he went on a long speech bashing Harley St. James and Jakob Alexander. Though he aimed it mainly towards Jakob Alexander. Later that night, Jakob confronted Spirit Z about it, and challenged him to a match, and gave him a week to decide. A week later, Spirit Z accepted Jakob's request to face him at Summer Slaughter. After that show event, Jakob and Spirit Z had engaged in a brawl in a bar only to be split up from security. This enraged both superstars, as they started to go around social media slandering against each other.
They finally faced each other at Summer Slaughter, where they fought a long match that resulted in Spirit Z winning, and admitting that he now respected Jakob as a wrestler, though he still remains enemies with him.
Heel Turn/Feuding with MG Newton
Edit
Earlier before he and Jakob's match at Summer Slaughter, Spirit Z threw a pipebomb on the THW Universe calling out the fans and make fun of their flaws. This resulted in Spirit Z finally turning heel. He won his match against Jakob, but ended up calling him out and stating that he finally respected him, but still do not like him.
The week later, at Evolution. Spirit Z had teamed up with Jakob Alexander to defeat the Booze Cruise, and later that night, joined commentary with Gabbi Sparks and Jeffrey Dawkins for the main event of Marina Valdivia v.s. MG Newton. Once Newton was defeated, Spirit Z left the announce table, shaking his head at Newton, hinting towards a possible feud. THe feud was settled in a week later, after Spirit Z had attacked Newton's wife. This caused Newton to go into a rage, having Spirit Z use this as fuel. The next week, Newton challenged Spirit Z to face him the next week at Oblivion, the September Pay-Per-View. Spirit Z accepted. This was also the second time he appeared as commentary for THW.
At Oblivion, he faced MG Newton to a close match, but ended up losing. Although, he mentioned earlier in the show that he had a 'surprise' for MG Newton. Spirit Z talked about how he got a visit from someone, and it turned out to be MG Newton's father in law, Alberto. Alberto appeared on the HonorTron and said he and Spirit Z were going to make MG Newton's life a miserable hell. This hinted that the feud between Newton and Spirit Z was not over.
Personal Life
Edit
Jesse Lewis is a Christian, as he believes God has helped him through his accomplishments. He was also arrested in 2002 for a road rage incident where he ran over a crossing guard. The charges were later dropped, and he was clear.
In a local interview, he stated that he and fellow THW superstar Tiami Tyler were in a relationship. On September 20, 2012 he told a newscaster that he and Tiami had ended their relationship, though on good terms.
