Thatcher Rex (born 1/22/1982) is an American professional wrestler best known for his work in Evolution Pro Wrestling, along with its progression into X3W. He was born in Helena, Montana. He currently works as a freelance bodyguard.

Pennsylvania Championship Wrestling[]

Thatcher Rex made his debut into the world of wrestling in PCW, and a dominant debut it was. Though he never received a title shot, he held the honor of being the only undefeated member of the roster. It was here where he found his first tag team partner in Storm.

Xtreme Wrestling Association[]

After departing PCW, Thatcher signed with Big Dave's Xtreme Wrestling Association. The company didn't last very long, however, but Rex was again undefeated. He entered the first feud of his career against Dustin Lee, and the two were slated to battle over the World Title before the company closed.

Evolution Wrestling/Evolution Pro Wrestling[]

After XWA closed, Thatcher was contacted by Laura Lyne, who had just opened Evolution Wrestling. It was here that Rex finally suffered defeat. But out of the ashes of his defeat came another first: the acquisition of the New Age Title, Rex's first championship and the top belt within the company. He would go on to feud with Michael Thunder in what was to be the most heated exchange of 2009, finally ending with Rex's loss in a Barbed Wire Massacre match. Things continued spiraling downward when Thatcher grew frustrated with his surroundings; he noticed that the people who were out for themselves were getting what they wanted while others were being left in the dust. In a shocking move, he turned his back on the fans, joining the ranks of Thundercrash (consisting of Michael Thunder and Joey Crash). Rex even condemned the efforts of The Uprising, saying though their cause was noble, they were ultimately ineffective. After the ousting of Laura Lyne and Michael Thunder, the company had no champion. Michael Powers, new owner of Evolution Wrestling, decided to pit Thatcher and Crazy Kyd in #1 Contenders Match, which led to a series of draws between the two. Eventually, Crazy Kyd won out, defeating Thatcher in a Last Man Standing match. Rex, angry with the loss, claimed the New Age title no longer held meaning and created his own belt, the Tyrant King Championship. He would enter a vicious feud with Crazy Kyd and, one month later, a title unification match for the official belt and Thatcher's created title was made. Thatcher emerged victorious. Afterwards, Michael Powers created the EW Tag Team Titles, and immediately awarded them to Thatcher Rex and Johnny Rotten without a single match being held to earn them. This was the last decision in a long line that had made Thatcher uneasy, and he began to turn back to his roots, fighting for the fans. In time, Evolution Wrestling merged with the Prominent Wrestling Organization, and Thatcher battled Kris Keebler for the World Heavywight Title. After a grueling battle that took a heavy toll on both participants, Keebler would score the victory. Afterwards, Keebler would enlist the aid of ArJay to form the In Crowd, who then proceeded to assault Rex. The injuries he sustained would keep him out of action for two months. When he returned, he gathered the forces of Malicia Savage, her sister Callista, and Reaper to form Evolution-X. They embarked on a journey of revenge against the In Crowd. The stable would soon break apart, however, when the Savage Sisters were discharged from the company, but not before they had evened the score with the In Crowd. His score settled, Thatcher moved on to win the Television Title from Crazy KYD, becoming the longest-reigning champion in EPW's history. He would later lose the belt to newcomer Psycho Soldier, and the company closed before the two could have a rematch. Before the closing, Thatcher butted heads once more with Darin Zion. Zion's previous loss to Rex had eaten at him, causing the former CWC North American Champion to attack Rex during his matches. Thatcher finally had enough and engaged Zion in one of the company's famed Barbed Wire Massacre matches. The feud was ended with Thatcher's victory. It also turned out to be the last match he would have in EPW.

Championship Wrestling Council[]

Thatcher Rex brought further glory to EPW when he acquired the North American Title of the venerated Championship Wrestling Council, defeating Darin Zion for the belt. He could only be described as a fighting champion, accepting challenges from all who made them. After six months, the second-longest title reign concerning the North American Championship, Thatcher lost it to Alexander StarrZoe. He continued to participate in many of CWC's tournaments, doing extremely well. His last match was against Rick Rampage, the man who held the North American Title for the longest in CWC. Rex lost to him, as well.

X3W[]

EPW closed its doors, but evolved into X3W. As such, Rex certainly signed a contract, but his career in this company started off rocky, only getting worse as time went on. After being eliminated from the World Title Tournament by the combined efforts of Madman Szalinski and the trio known as the Lords of Hate, Thatcher was hellbent on retaliation against the Lords. Many expected him to continue the feud on his own, one man against three, but in a surprising twist he called in a favor, enlisting the aid of Nightmare, Inc. Longtime friends Emma McIntyre and Katherine Stryfe heeded Thatcher's call, and the trio put the Lords in their place. Unfortunately, his quest of vengeance would come to a halt. The appearance of Thatcher's sister, Theresa, would turn his world upside down. Years previous, he had committed his volatile sibling to the halls of an asylum, and rightfully so. But thanks to the efforts of Madelyne McTaggert, Theresa had been freed, and sought to punish her brother. McTaggert falsified drug reports to make it appear as if Thatcher were a user of anabolic steroids. Believing the reports, the owner of X3W, Brydon Talinsdale, subsequently fired Rex. Things did not go well in his absence, though; McTaggert made a grab for power, pushing Talinsdale to overdose and taking the reigns of X3W in his absence. Eventually, Talinsdale returned; Thatcher had found him in his overdosed state, saving his life by calling 911. As a result, Talinsdale would not return alone. He gave Rex a new contract, and Thatcher battled his sister in the middle of the ring. Talinsdale had wanted to fire her on the spot, but knew that Rex needed the retribution. Soon after, X3W closed its doors, and Thatcher opted for early retirement from wrestling.

Sin City Wrestling[]

In November of 2012, Thatcher came out of retirement and signed a contract with SCW. His first match was a Triple Threat against the likes of "Winter Soldier" John Void and Derek Thorne. While he wasn't pinned, he did lose. For his third match, Rex was placed in another Triple Threat, this time with a Tables stipulation, for the chance to be the Number One Contender for the Roulette Championship. He won, but before moving on to face the champion, Thatcher signed up for the Blast from the Past Mixed Tag Team Tournament, in which he was partnered with Misty. Neither trusted the other at first, but have since come to an uneasy understanding... at least until Misty had them deliberately disqualified in their final match against Odette Ryder and Jordan Williams. Rex was furious over her actions, but displayed his characteristic sportsmanship by congratulating his two opponents in the ring. The Roulette Title match at Blaze of Glory would see further disappointment, as Rex was disqualified; Thatcher had evaded a chair shot from his opponent, ripping it from his grasp. Before any contact or retaliation on Rex's part, however, the Tyrant King was disqualified for simply having it in his possession. Immediately afterwards, he was attacked by Duke Ata Tupoi, an individual from another promotion. Rex took his grievances to the SCW brass, who immediately booked a rematch against James, while also promising to get in contact with Duke for a possible inter-promotional match. The rematch with Huntington-Hawkes III saw Thatcher crowned as the new Roulette Champion, but not before going through a Falls Count Anywhere match. Both Duke Ata and Giani DeLuca would try their best at preventing him from pinning James, but Rex powered through their interference by slamming Tupoi through the roof of the car and implanting DeLuca into the hood. Though he earned the Roulette Title, Thatcher was nowhere near done with Duke Ata Tupoi. He organized a match for the next PPV and, in an unforseen twist, was forced to put his title on the line in a Dog Leash match. It was a match that was by no means easy, but Rex emerged the victor, forever banning Tupoi from SCW grounds. There was one more piece of unfinished business, however, in Giani DeLuca. Thatcher had never been the forgiving sort, and DeLuca only antagonized the Roulette Champion. The two finally met face to face in the ring, where Rex picked up a victory. Unfortunately, tragedy would strike the family of Thatcher Rex, and he was forced to walk out of Sin City Wrestling and drop the Roulette Title.
