[edit] The Mask's History

Jack Donato began his career thinking he would become an actor. Donato had done some stunt work and a little acting in his teenage years before he was bitten by the wrestling bug at age 19. It all started with a chance encounter with Tommy Dreamer himself. Dreamer saw potential in Donato and offered to train him. Donato began his wrestling career getting the ever loving crap beaten out of him by Tommy. Dreamer did not let Donato become a "typical" brawler, instead encourage him to learn to be quicker and more agile. Also, Dreamer taught Donato a lot about the "brawling" style of wrestling.

[edit] In The Ring

Donato wrestled in a few indies before making his debut in the NIWF. His menace and unique ability gave him an immediate edge and he saw his way to several title wins. It was here that he also first met up with Big Daddy, they formed the Suicidals and went on to several tag title runs. Donato eventually turned on Big in order to pursue the World title, but failed in the attempt.

Donato finally became the big dog when the PRW rolled around. Defeating Strider Dan in a horrific "I Quit" match (Off Camera) that saw each man brutally injured, but Donato emerged victorious. He went on a successful winning streak, before falling to The Godfather, whom he would defeat two weeks later to regain his title as Don of PRW. This engaged a notorious feud with The Godfather. The two battled each other for supremacy putting their bodies on the line in hopes of getting the other to tap out. In the altercations The Godfather broke Jack's jaw, and Jack tore ligaments in his knee, injuries that still plague him until this day. His luck seemed to go from bad to worse when during a dark match; Jack delivered such a vicious forearm shot to the back of his opponent's head that is caused the bone in his forearm to shatter. Soon after, Jack went to Japan in an attempt to sort of find himself. The Japanese fans took to him, (perchance because of his alliance with Toshiaki Kawada, who had been re-training him) dubbing him "Dangerous R" in honor of Kawada. The arenas could often be heard chanting "DAN-JOO-RUSE" It was from Kawada that Donato learned some Japanese techniques, including his famed piledrivers and the Italiana Vice.

Donato would come back and make a few appearances in other feds before he fell off the scene completely for a while.

Finally, he slowly began to wrestle again, he donned a green mask and accordingly went under the Alias of The Mask. After first being considered a practical joke, his amazing ability to execute technical maneuvers with startling success brought him renowned fame. A legend, a hall of famer, Mask was often referred to as being the only man to have successfully combined the wrestling style of Ric Flair, the wrestling ability of Kurt Angle, and the smack-talking like The Rock. It was often hard for opponents to believe they were facing a near cartoon, but at Apocalypse, one man stood up against The Mask's constant jabbing at people and removed the mask, revealing Jack Donato as he is now.

Without his mask, Jack slowly began to fade off the PRW map but got into a feud with Xclusiv. This led to a contract vs Mask match for Sherri Taylor's managerial services. Jack lost the match and put the mask back on, resuming his status as The Mask.

The Mask has found his greatest success in PRW's Cyanide division capturing the title a record 33 times as of 11/10/09
