Undisputed World Championship
From the eWrestling Encyclopedia.
- This article is about the MFGG Wrestling title. For other undisputed titles, see Undisputed Championship.
The Undisputed World Championship is the top championship defended in MFGG Wrestling. It is the result of the unification of the MFGG World Heavyweight Championship and XD Championship. As of March 31, 2007, it also comprises the AWN Heavyweight Championship.
[edit] History
In August 2006, the rebel faction X-Degeneration introduced its own world-level title, the XD Championship. Although the title was sanctioned by XD, it was considered an MFGG championship. This created a conflict, as MFGG already had their own World Heavyweight Championship.
It was eventually decided that MFGG and XD should have one single champion. On October 15, 2006, at MFGG Three-Month Mayhem, MFGG World Heavyweight Champion (and member of XD) Zasshou defeated XD Champion (and MFGGer) The Blue Griffin to unify the two titles and become the Undisputed World Champion. The MFGG acronym was purposely kept out of the title's name, as it was supposed to serve as the world championship for both MFGG and XD (though XD disbanded shortly after the unification).
When the Internet Pro Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship was resurrected in MFGG Wrestling, it had its "world" status removed to avoid conflict with this title's "undisputed" claim.
On March 27, 2007, it was announced that the final interpromotional event between MFGG and AWN Wrestling, MFGG/AWN At the World's End, would take place that Friday (March 30). The main event featured Julio Cesar F losing the AWN Heavyweight Championship to Undisputed World Champion Uber n00ber. As a result, the AWN Heavyweight Championship became part of the Undisputed World Title, further bolstering its "undisputed" claim.
