The NIWA/EMW Unified World Tag Team Championship is the top titles contested by tag teams in the National Internet Wrestling Alliance fantasy wrestling promotion. The first were The Warios (Wario and Waluigi). They defeated The Super Mario Brothers in a Ladder Match at St. Patrick's Day Beatdown on March 27, 2009. The current champions are The Bayside Blondes (AC Slater & Zach Morris), who defeated Peter Pan & "Mr. WrestleMania" JTH due to interference from the Nintendo World Order on March 17, 2013 at EMW Champions Showcase 2K13.
Being a professional wrestling championship, it is not won via direct competition; it is instead won via a predetermined ending to a match or awarded to a wrestler because of a wrestling angle. There have been twenty reigns by twelve teams and 23 wrestlers with one vacancy. The one vacancy came when the The Warios were stripped due to Wario sustaining an injury.
