Vlade Hunter
From the eWrestling Encyclopedia.
Vlade Hunter , (born Vladimir Cosimo Andre December 24th, 1986) is a Canadian professional wrestler, most noteably known for his work in the TNW. He has also held several staff positions in the now defunct TSW, firstly as General Manager before being promoted as President. Some consider it an honor to have him be a part of their roster, whether you love him or hate him, one fact that can't be denied is his greatness and his huge fanbase. Then again, who can really hate the sexiest man alive? Seems so many chicks want his pants now and rightfully so but unfortunately he is taken but that doesn't stop the ladies. He is currently working for Ultimate Wrestling Federation. where he is the current World Champion. He is part of the Tag Team/Stable TRINITY with his two cousins Nick Carazo and Luther Stun. He is now newly signed with World Wrestling Headquarters.

[edit] Early Life (1986 - 2004)
Vladimir Cosimo Andre was born 48 minutes after his fraternal twin brother Marion Andre. The two were their parent’s only children. Growing up in the Toronto Valley’s was a hard and tough experience, with the coalmine villages proving tougher than the city life many children of the same generation had. A relief of this life for the brothers was to watch Super Non-Stop Wrestling (SNW) on the TV and they became hooked.Vlade excelled in school, be it physical or intellectual studies, and during secondary school, the two brothers have same interest though, Marion wasn’t interested in becoming a wrestler, he was far more interested in becoming a zoologist. He has great passion for animals than Vlade ever does, who has far more interest in becoming a wrestler. Vlade met his other two cousins who both lived in Florida both men who shared Vlade’s passion for the business. The two cousins was known to be Nick Carazo and Luther Stun from their peers, due to their lack of respect for authorities but liked the discipline wrestling gave them. The three of them enrolled into a local wrestling school in Toronto, Adrian Street's Wrestling School, in 2002 and began training for their hopeful future.
Despite being athletic, Vlade quickly realized that his style would be different to the flamboyant – highflying style of Nick and the daredevil - lucha libre style of Luther. Vlade was technically sound, but wished to increase his power and strength to make up his shortcomings, in his mind, compared to the other two. He was dead against using steroids, but found out that a substance called ephedrine increased his resilience and used it during bodybuilding exercises. On his 2005 TNW endorsed DVD, “The Capital V to the H – A Vlade Hunter Story” Vlade made his own observation on the pills;
“I still believe that [taking the ephedrine] I did nothing wrong. They were a new substance back then and in my mind it was only for a boost. I don’t believe to this day I’ve done anything wrong, even though it’s a banned substance in our society today. People talk about side effects, but I’m OK. I’ve always felt fine. I know many people who during my age group were taking steroids to get huge. I never, all the muscle on my body came from work in the gym, with a little boost of course. As soon as I got to around the 260 lbs mark, I stopped. I’ve dropped weight since then, but I’ve always been fine.”
Vlade though was a gifted wrestler. He had one of the best brains his trainers had ever seen, his love for the sport only amplifying this. He was also a fast learner, taking anything he learned quickly on board.
It was during this time that Vlade had his first true love, Josie Leigh. Although she never said until it was too late, she always felt that she was a simple affair to Vlade’s first love wrestling. When Josie was 16, her father died in a cerebral spinal cord fluid disease and Vlade halted his wrestling progress even more, but increased body building on a more regular scale. Being by her side, for a constant 6 months, cost him some early experience, but he came back a much stronger individual to whom he left.Dividing his time between sixth form education and any spare time in the Wrestling School, Vlade got his first opportunity to wrestle a professional wrestling match. The special night oh 11th October 2004, saw Vlade take on Dante Maître, in a dodgy ring in a Cardio Danseur Centre. He was scouted by a Canadian based federation and was asked to continue training and wrestle in the Vancouver Independent federation CWA. Vlade wasn’t the only one, Nick and Luther also got called to other areas around the country.
Vlade told his family, friends and Josie. Although all of them were happy, they knew it was a risk. Telling Josie was the hardest of them all. The couple split, her philosophy coming true, she was second in Vlade’s life to wrestling. She had hoped the pair would be married soon, but she decided to break off the relationship because he would be over two hundred miles away. Despite everything following her father’s death, Vlade believed it would work and he even had an engagement ring for her. But she broke it off before he had a chance to propose.
Vlade, Nick and Luther all parted ways in Cardio train station that same year, only two months after their first professional matches. Vlade was off to Vancouver to finally live out his dream.
[edit] Wrestling Career
[edit] Early Career (2005)
Vlade first’s match in CWA was only two weeks after arriving. He was given the name Vlade Parker, and he jobbed to “Indie Boy” Mauriac, but defeated him the following week. Mauriac, who was the Vancouver Champion at the time, saw potential in Vlade and the two embarked on a tag team run together.
Under the name "The New Generation" the two had great success, in the tag division, their greatest achievement was winning the Tag Titles from Team Cherry. However, after three weeks after winning the belts, Mauriac injured his collarbone in a tag match and still being the Vancouver Champion, was forced to retire the belt. However, he remained Tag champion for now, as Vlade was forced to defend the championship in a handicap match against Team Cherry. The young superstar lost to a veteran team, but the fans appreciated the effort.
Vlade didn’t like the name, Vlade Parker; it was too much of a play on his Canadian nationality. Instead he came up with the name “Ultimatum” Vlade Lux, and began wrestling under that alias. During this time, he began a successful run as a singles star and went for the Vancouver Championship. Five months later, following a very successful run, Vlade defeated the then champion Kidd Nicky and became Vancouver Champion. Two weeks later, out of nowhere, Vlade’s former tag partner Mauriac returned to CWA action. Mauriac demanded that he was still Vancouver Champ and challenged his former tag partner to a match. Three weeks later the pair met and Mauriac defeated Vlade. Vlade called for a rematch, inside a steel cage, a decision, which would haunt him for the rest of his career. During the match, the pair began fighting on top of the cage, but Vlade slipped and fell to the outside of the cage, damaging a disc in his back.
Vlade was out for two months rehabilitation. He unofficially won the match, but because of the ending, the match was called void and Mauriac remained champion.
Two months later, Vlade returned to action and began attracting more attention from abroad now in the USA. Jayson Turner, owner of TNT wanted Vlade for his growing company. CWA learned of the news and pushed Vlade into the main event. Vlade won the CWA World Championship from its “The Phantom” Doug Wallace, but two days later, Vlade left CWA for a place that offered more awards and money.
Vlade’s dream was to wrestle in the big countries for Wrestling. USA was one of them and Vlade was off to the TNT.
During the early TNT days, the Tag Team Championship was a big thing for the company. Turner wanted Vlade to begin a tag team and challenge for the championship. Initially, Turner wanted Vlade to get Mauriac to join him but Vlade refused to work with Mauriac. In early 2006, TNT began to dwindle and Vlade got the chance of a lifetime, he defeated Paul Levis, a TNT Legend, to become TNT World Champion. He only held the belt for two months when he injured his back again. He dropped the belt to Mackie Bunks and left the company for a sabbatical. He never worked for TNT again, in the two months rehabilitation, the company closed. Vlade was out of a job.
[edit] Spain, China and Movies (2005 - 2006)
Following the closure of TNT, Adam Kinston, a former wrestler of TNT, told Vlade that he was going to wrestle in Spain. Vlade joined him for two months, under the guise of “Ultimatum” Vlade Lux again. Following two months of the Luchador obsessed Spanish; Vlade quit Spain following the great demand from the Spanish fans. Instead he tried to follow another of his dreams, China.
To get to China, Vlade needed money so he enrolled again at the Adam Street’s Wrestling School in Toronto, this time as a trainer. While training, he contacted Saki Li Kun, a Chinese promoter for the XFW. Saki liked Vlade and got him for a early 2005 start.
With wrestling being seen as more of a sport in China, Vlade was happy to try XFW. The fans loved him straight off the bat, the charismatic Canadian was joyful and had a great look. He was also a technically sound individual in the ring and gained a lot of respect in China. But Vlade’s problem was the culture in China. The food wasn’t for him and he hated the hygiene standards in rural areas. Following the turn of the Millennium, Vlade left China for America again. The year 2006 had little impact on Vlade. He decided that wrestling wasn’t for him and with his back problems, called retirement at the age of 20. He turned up at some wrestling conventions, but few people remembered him from his one stint in the USA for TNT. He began drinking whisky during this period and, though he didn’t become an alcoholic by any means, it’s still a vice for him today.
While in LA during 2006 for a wrestling convention, Vlade met Arthur Raines, a movie star who was training to become a wrestler. Arthur’s agent Mark told Vlade to audition for a role in Raines’ up and coming movie “Conflict Violence.” Vlade got the part and had a small role in the start of the movie as Van Andrews, a character Raines killed early on. But the wrestling bug was still in him and Vlade decided he wanted to return to the ring. Vlade applied to a new Federation starting, the TNW (Tough New Wrestling) and President John Walters quickly signed Vlade.
[edit] Tough New Wrestling (2007)
John wanted Vlade, but hated the idea Vlade brought to him of “Ultimatum” Vlade Lux. Although John hated that just as much, it was a take it or leave it offer. From that moment, the most influential part of Vladimir Cosimo Andre’s professional career was born. Vlade Hunter.
The initial idea for Vlade Hunter was that he was a good guy but with it came cocky and brass. He had a wandering eye and was basically every woman’s fantasy. This was Walter’s idea and although Vlade was hesitant, he accepted.
Another vital part of Vlade’s life occurred just before the take off of the TNW, he met Jen Aurora. Jen was a trainee wrestler at Paul Levis, the former TNT star, training school in Sudbury. Vlade was introduced to her at a Starbuck’s café. Vlade convinced her to follow her dream and join him in TNW as firstly his valet, then a wrestler. She accepted after a bit of persuasion,
Vlade Hunter made his debut in October 2007 inside a steel cage for the TNW Extreme Championship. However, following the first event, Walters had cash flow problems and ended up with the company almost going into administration. Another person stepped in, President Andrew Willies took over. Vlade had another brain flash during this time and managed to convince his oldest friends and his cousins Nick and Luther to join the new TNW. The up and coming weeks would be a defining period in both Vlade Hunter and the TNW, which proved in the second week. Vlade became guest referee in a match between Titan and new starter Solidz. For the next month, Vlade Hunter began his first real feud with Titan, accumulating at the First PPV, The Night of Champions, where every belt was decided in a Battle Royal. The winner of the match was Titan and Vlade came short again.
During this period, Chris Skulk joined TNW ranks. Skulk, along with his faction, joined TNW with Skulk quickly aligning with Titan. Skulk, Titan and Jamal Antonio began a war on TNW, making Vlade Hunter, Nick Carazo and Luther Stun fall into line. The troops came together for a while, but soon disbanded again with problems in the ranks. Vlade had a lot of enemy, that also includes Kevin Klein which later become a three time TNW World Champion.
Following his World Championship attempt defeat, Vlade left TNW for a while to recharge his batteries. When he returned, without the actual “Good Guy” gimmick but his name still intact, Skulk, Titan and the rest had returned, TNW including several new superstars, Tommy Ends and John Fury. In May 2006, Fury and Vlade went head to head for their own feud in the final month of TNW. Fury was the then Con Champion and Vlade challenged him for the title. Fury won and Vlade left TNW on a loss when he lost to Titan in the final week.
[edit] True Super Wrestling , Total Non-Stop Action (2007-2008)
He knew Tony was a former CEO of TSW, one of the top federations of his day. In the background, Tony Force was rebuilding his former company the True Super Wrestling. He knew of Vlade’s former backstage work with TNW and one day out of nowhere, asked him if he wanted to be the General Manager of TSW. Vlade accepted. Then the TSW was finally open.
The first thing he done in TSW was getting his cousins Nick and Luther signed. Both of them had a stalled career since TNW and the TSW opportunity was something he couldn’t pass up. Vlade then also found a new superstar for TSW, Fayt. The President Justin Bush warned Vlade that Fayt wasn’t a man for TSW. The following week, Bush was beat up, battered and bruised, all fingers pointing at Fayt. Vlade disbanded this information and signed Fayt to a TSW contract several weeks later, at the PPV Suicidal Violence. Fayt attacked TSW World Champion John Rood, Vlade revealing his plans to bring Fayt to TSW and to lose Justin meaning he would become President. To keep up a sort of fitness, he enrolled in UWF as a wrestler. UWF was a small federation then and started wrestling there unsuccessfully, mainly due to his TSW commitments. He also found UWF very outspoken at the time and he had real heat backstage with some of the superstars. After two weeks, Vlade left UWF angry that he gave Andrew Burns a chance.
Vlade also had his select stable at that time, he, Nick, and Luther became a unit to be reckoned with but Tony Force tested the groups new status at the Deadly Hills PPV, when he ordered all three men to compete against TSW’s finest, Rood, Jennifer Price and Tommy Crude. The match was a victory in the way of Rood’s team, TSW World Champion John Rood pinning Nick. Vlade became the sole survivor of his initial faction.
Then around mid-May, Vlade agreed to sign on with WFW as he appeared for one televised show in a 5-on-1 Handicap Match. After the event, he decided to for-go his start in WFW and he decides to leave. At the same time, he was called up by Dulce and continued his backstage duties as he was named ROH's "General Manager". Then a week after his only match for WFW, Vlade decides to "be more serious" (on PWW.com) with his career and tries to find a permanent home in wrestling. For a vacation, he heads down to Florida and is sent an invitation to go backstage of the TNA Imapct Wrestling by Mike Bones (aka KIller). Soon after, rumors start to surface that Vlade will sign on TNA. Vlade proves rumors to be true as he walked into TNA headquarters and held a meeting with James Borden about the possibilities of him joining TNA.
A press release was sent out and stated that Vlade is back as he signed a deal worth $850,000 for 1 year as the contract is filled with deals that only a man of his stature can find. The deal made Vlade one of the highest paid contracted employees in TNA history. Now entering TNA as his real name, Vlade worked a couple matches when he was involved in an automobile accident. Although he sustained minor injuries, they were countless. Because of that, he was declared to be out until the new year had started. He made his mark clear while being on the injured list because throughout the entire fall and winter of 2006, his decisions and ideas helped TNA more than before. During early-November, Vlade was officially part of the stable Evolution. However, after nursing his injuries Vlade recovered and was able to be in competition. His first match back was against The Vain and the Iron Man Championship. On that night, Vlade won his first championship since last May. Because of that, Vlade was put on the board of ideas as he'd became one of the experiments of Firestone. However, another automobile accident put things on hold as Vlade sustained a sprained arm and would be out of action for almost two months.
Then in June, after a couple of title defenses and time healing an injury, Vlade came back as his return match was his first title defense against Chris Sabin. After defeating him, Vlade came out and issued a gut-wrenching challenge to wrestlers backstage for his championship. After couple matches, Vlade grew back into his "Triple Threat" gimmick. A beloved, tactical babyface, Vlade went on to pick on undercards while at the same time gave respect to those that deserved it best. Then on the April 12th edition of iMPACT!, Vlade came out to Alex Lachey's resignation speech and took his Hardcore Championship as well as "firing" The Wolf at the same time. Because of his actions, he was placed in a Triple Threat Match for the vacant X-Division Championship against Ken Stevenson and Marcus O'Jones at Extreme Payback. After pinning Marcus O'Jones, Vlade became the first wrestler on iMPACT! to win three titles while being the first man in TNA's history to win three championships with none of them being the World Title.
A week and a half later after winning the X-Division Title, Demonic Angel challenges Vlade after Vlade's match against Casey Williams. Firestone then issues a match and calls it with the Hardcore Championship on the line. After losing the match and his title, Vlade performs a spot where Demonic Angel slams him down into the announcers table. The table had a mishap and Vlade (legitimately) injures his latissimus dorsi and said he was going to be out for sometime. Only after a month he comes out and addresses the crowd with Slick. It's been said that Slick and Vlade were going to be paired up but no one knew when the program was going to be started. During the same show, Vlade comes out and issues four matches for an upcoming show of iMPACT!. It has been said by many media outlets that Vlade will return at TNA's Slammiversary pay-per-view event. Those rumors were indeed true as he went on to defeat Rey Mysterio in a title unification match and unified TNA's Iron Man and X-Division titles. On that same night, Vlade, along with other bevy of current and former TNA Superstars and Knockouts, were inducted into the Hall of Fame as its class of 2007.
As weeks went by after his induction into TNA's Hall of Fame, he entered in a feud against Rey Mysterio for Vlade's X-Division title. They battled for a month until an Ultimate X Match for the right to be the number one contender on an episode of iMPACT! was subsequently changed by Vlade himself as the match would turn into a title match. At the end of the brawl, Marcus O'Jones retrieved the title as he was announced as the winner. However, Vlade turned things around and opposed his decision and named him the number one contender, instead of the champion. Then afterwards, Vlade would lay out O'Jones as he began showing signs of a heel turn. Later on the night, Vlade ran in a match consisting of a returning Game. It would however, be his last appearance as he and management began to drift away from each other.
Vlade decided in January of 2007 to halt his wrestling career for a few months, he had lost that burning fire and needed to ignite it again.
[edit] Ultimate Wrestling Federation (2008 – Present)
In late 2008, UWF opened up again and Vlade decided to try again, to see if he could bring back his Golden Days. He had spent most of 2007 outside of the ring and tried a few federations with little success. But when UWF opened up again, Vlade could feel the fire burning again and really wanted to excel. Vlade had changed a lot since his last spell in the spotlight. He was wiser with age (he was now 21) and became more sophisticated. His first match back in UWF was against a promising new comer Soul Molokai. Vlade defeated him and found himself against another newcomer in the second week, Andrius. Again Vlade defeated him.In Amazing Rush II, Vlade kicked off defeating Channing Shenanigans in a second round match. In a well deserved victory, Vlade progressed to face "The Fallen Angle" Loz in a mouth watering tie. The match went either way, but after kicking out of the Death Driver, Loz defeated Vlade with the Faith Killer.
The match with Ace and Vlade was what the fans of UWF expected, an instant classic. It went both ways but in the end, Vlade prevailed defeating Ace via outside interference from Oxus. His plan was in motion to become UWF World Champion and his opportunity of closing in on it came into action when he squared off against McLo and Loz for number one contendership. Vlade defeated the pair to become number one contender at Displacement, the same Pay Per View he won the UWF World Championship at before. The next challenger to Vlade 's Championship was independent legend Damian Gold. The two went on a months bitter feud which started from Vlade's disgust of Gold's specialty match Zero Grounders. The two met at the Combat Zone Pay Per View where Vlade became the first UWF World Champion since Johnson to retain a World title on a PPV stage.
Vlade concentrated fully on UWF, his "home federation". He was already the World Champion. UWF Hall of Famer Loz returned in this period, Vlade went straight for him. He managed to prove that Loz was below him when at UWF Underminings, Vlade defeated Loz to retain his World Championship.
[edit] Channel Zero Wrestling (2008-Present)
Signing with CZW in late April 2008, Vlade was quickly placed in his debut match versus Dace Valentine on May 4, 2008. The match even had a special stipulation: a spot in the Cage of Doom match for the King of Channel Zero championship at May Mayhem. Vlade won the match by forfeit, because Valentine never showed up for the match, and was instantly qualified for the pay-per-view. The next week, Vlade was placed in a tag match with Milosevic and Kameron Wolfe to go up against the current King of Channel Zero champion, Mineshaft, Channing Wells, and Andrew Forgeries. Vlade didn’t mind being placed in a tag team match, but he had a few tricks up his sleeve. Suffering his first lost, although he was not pinned, Vlade took his aggressions out on his tag team partners, however, this boosted his fan approval level and he instantly became a fan favorite by announcing that he was the newest member of the stable, X-Allianze. His confidence boost led CZW management to place him in a match with real competition: against former King of Channel Zero champion, Logistic. Vlade managed to steal a victory after a gruesome four minute match via super kick. Logistic didn’t take the defeat lying down, however, because he attacked Vlade after the match with a double suplex of his finisher, Reality Bites, once on the mat, the final on a steel chair. Still recovering from his attack by Logistic, Vlade was placed in yet another match the following week against Milosevic. Although the victory was easily granted, Logistic once again gave a brutal attack to Vlade after the match up.After consulting with the current champion, Mineshaft, the two decided to eliminate Logistic first in the Cage of Doom match at May Mayhem. The match consisted of a ring filled with every weapon imaginable, surrounded by a cage that was entwined with barbwire and electricity, designed by the champion herself. The match was to consist of five men, Vlade Hunter, Milosevic, Casey Bornee, Logistic, and Mineshaft, all vying for the King of Channel Zero championship. Although the two went after each other in the beginning, both Vlade and Mineshaft were entertained when Logistic went up in flames in the middle of the ring via Vlade’s pyrotechnics and Mineshaft’s quick thinking german suplex. However, Vlade's fire also caused his own eyebrows to be scorched off. The two quickly went back to the match and threw attack after attack one another, but the match was ended by Vlade pinning Mineshaft after causing him to go directly into a fireworks explosion, resulting in Vlade becoming the King of Channel Zero champion.
During all the commotion before May Mayhem, Jesse Nox and Alan Baker decided on a draft and separating the CZW roster into two different brands. The original decision was that the half of men’s roster would be on WarZone with Baker, therefore resulting in Vlade’s separation from X-Allianze. The two business men quickly came to the conclusion, that with the expanding male roster, the King of Channel Zero championship would be defended on both shows, just like the World Heavyweight title, allowing Vlade to stay with X-Allianze.
During the next few weeks, Vlade was placed against a variety of matches in order to prepare him for his title defense at the upcoming pay-per-view, Summer Sonic. His opponents for Summer Sonic were picked by the fans and revealed merely a week before the show. He faced Alfredo Tyne, Mineshaft and Channing Wells in a Fatal Four Way Iron Man match for the King of Channel Zero Championship. The match was brutal and a tough fight, but in the end Vlade Hunter retained once again.
