[edit] Show History

With the expansion of the WCSF resulting in more talent signed for the shows, the possibility of having some of wrestlers not getting enough airtime to show off their skills was one that CEO Ralph Pierce was one that was not going to be fufilled. So at the WCSF's biggest show, Revolution, Pierce announced a brand split that brought back former WCSF Heavyweight Champion, John Zhilone to the company once again, promising to give Jay Jameson and Mayhem some strong competition as General Manager of Unleashed. Including such drafts as his fierce rival Jason Williams and the Tag Team and Crusierweight Champions, Zhilone made a significant impact on Mayhem without even booking a single show yet.

[edit] A Heavyweight Champion?

The Brand Split created a gap for Unleashed to fill as the holder of the WCSF Championship, Dynamite, chose to remain exclusive on Mayhem. Zhilone's first duty as General Manager of Unleashed was to name a new Unleashed Champion, in the form of a twelve-man tournament, culminating at Destruction:

First Round

Second Round

  • Chris Hunter defeated Tristagi
  • The Executioner defeated Bray R.S.
  • Jason Williams defeated Everwinter

In the Finals, a Triple Threat Match between Chris Hunter, The Executioner and Jason Williams took place, ending with Zhilone costing Williams the win and giving The Executioner the small chance that he took to become the first-ever WCSF Unleashed Champion.

[edit] From Unleashed to Rampage

At WCSF Annihilation 2008, Zhilone decided that it was time for change. Unleashed had been seen for too long as the "B" Show, so it was time to shed the Unleashed moniker and start a new era. Sinistra helped usher in this new era by defeating The Executioner and Brian Davis in a triple threat Dome of Doom match. The new show title for the new era was dubbed WCSF Rampage. Zhilone's reasoning for this was that Unleashed had a more unorganized sound to it, whereas Rampage alludes to a more focused madness.

The name change has not gone without controversy. It was well-received by some writers, but not by others. A couple mentions have been made on Mayhem poking fun at the new name.

With the relaunch of the WCSF and the firing od several big name stars due to wellness failures, the brand split has been temporarily halted with all wrestlers performing on both Mayhem and Rampage for the immediate future although both titles will be unified at Revolution IV.
