World War III is an annual pay-per-view event that is promoted by World Championship Wrestling. On the July 16th edition of WCW Monday Nitro, Jim Ross confirmed that World War III will be on schedule to air on August 26, 2006 in San Francisco, California. It has been confirmed that the WCW World Heavyweight Championship Title will be defended in the Main Event.
