Homepage World Wrestling Headquarters

World Wrestling Headquarters, Inc. (WWH) is a publicly traded, privately controlled integrated media (focusing in television, Internet, and live events) and sports entertainment company dealing primarily in professional wrestling, with major revenue sources also coming from film, music, product licensing, and direct product sales. Adrian Hart is the majority owner and chairman of the company and his wife Anya Alstreim-Hart holds the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Harts hold approximately 80% of WWH's economic interest and 93% of the voting power in the company.

The company's global headquarters are located in San Fransisco, California with offices in Los Angeles, New York City, London, and Toronto. WWH's business focus is on professional wrestling, a simulated sport that consists of wrestling combined with acting and theatre. It is currently the largest professional wrestling promotion in the world and holds an extensive library of videos representing a significant portion of the visual history of professional wrestling. WWH promotes under three brands: Demolition, Showdown and the recently revived Inner Circle which broadcast their weekly shows on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays respectively. WWH is also home to two world titles: the WWH Championship, and the Demolition Heavyweight Championship.

[edit] Company History

[edit] Foundation

World Wrestling Headquarters was founded by Adrian Hart (no relation to the famous Hart wrestling family), a young college graduate with a passion for the wrestling industry. Having been a wrestling fan for years and already having knowledge of the industry's internal clockwork, Hart, along with other members of his family, all of whom would soon become synonymous with WWH, built the company as a small, but well-run, independent promotion. At first, as any upstart promoter will tell you, business was a bit slow, as new signees were trickling in, and regular promoting techniques didn't seem to work as well as projected. However, eventually, after changing a few things internally, WWH grew larger with the vast expanse of talent coming in.

Over its nearly five-year history, WWH has undergone a numerous amount of changes, especially its brands. Initially, the three main "brands" of the company were WWE, TNA, and ROH, the names being taken from the companies that Adrian Hart financially acquired, in what would later become known as the "Infamous Brand Days". However, currently, the two main brands of WWH are Monday Night Demolition and Thursday Night Showdown, each of which has its own world championship: the WWH Championship for Showdown, and the Demolition Heavyweight Championship for Demolition. In addition, each brand has a second-tier championship (the International Championship and Underground Championship, respectively). The company also has two "universal" championships -- that is, the championships are not restricted to either brand -- the WWH World Tag Team Championships for the tag team division, and the WWH Bombshells Championship for the company's "Bombshells" (the term used for their female competitors).

[edit] Controversy

Over the years, WWH -- and namely, Adrian Hart -- has faced hostility and uneasiness from owners and operators of other wrestling promotions. This is mainly due to the fact that Adrian has been known to "spam" other promotions' talent with offers to join World Wrestling Headquarters, which some owners have taken measures to retaliate against by returning the favor within WWH.

In addition, Hart has also faced a great deal of backlash and hostility from his own talent within the company, due to allegations of him "trying to fuck every new Bombshell that walks in the door", as one company worker put it. This, along with what seems to be a constant shift in just who is Adrian Hart's "wife", has caused many people within the company to become uneasy with the owner of World Wrestling Headquarters. However, despite this, many have managed to form a stable working relationship with Hart, though seemingly out of necessity, due to the Hart Family holding so much of the power within the company.
