History[]

The XPWA World Tag Team Titles were created along with the Xtreme Pain Wrestling Alliance on January 9, 2005.

Controversy/Fake Titles[]

When XPWA relaunched in 2008, there were no plans for a tag team division. However, Jeremy Cundiff and Ariel Shadows purchased their own belts and began to carry them on XPWA television, claiming they were the World Tag Team Champions and they would defend the belts anywhere they felt compelled to, but only defended the titles in New Era Wrestling one time. For the most part, the titles have been XPWA exclusive.

The couple also hacked the XPWA website, placing an image of their belts on a piece of paper duct taped to the front page with their names below it. After several weeks, Mike Daussouis finally announced on the December 10, 2008 edition of Overload that the titles would be recognized, and that Jeremy Cundiff and Ariel Shadows would have to win a match unifying their "fake" titles with the real XPWA Tag Team championship. Cundiff and Shadows defeated the 8-Bit Beatdown, Marcus and Nathaniel James, to win the belts later in that show.

Previous Champions[]

Any help with title lineage would be greatly appreciated.
