Zone Capone is a Swedish e-wrestling character, based loosely on the real-life bodybuilder of the same name. He is a versatile and well-learned technician of the ring, best known for his reputation as a "heckler", due to his tendency to frustrate his opponents with a variety of insults, tampering with their trons, and stealing their finishing moves. He currently wrestles for European League International Television Entertainment (ELITE), and is the general manager of ELITE's offshoot brand, European League Wrestling (ELW).

[edit] History

[edit] Early History

Zone Capone's history reveals him to be a jack-of-all-trades. In his youth, Zone was a skateboarder and the lead singer/guitarist of a skate rock band called SLAM. During this time, Zone attended a wrestling event with a girl he was dating. Zone, who at the time was very skinny, loudly heckled the entire show, at one point catching the attention of Lex "Crusher" Logan. The wrestler challenged Zone to go three minutes with him in the ring. Zone took the challenge, and was very badly beaten in under a minute.

Frustrated by this turn of events, Zone decided that if he wanted to heckle wrestlers, he'd need to be able to back his heckling up.

Zone began a workout regimen which he dubbed "hardcore bodybuilding". This consisted of seven years of arduous weightlifting, often leading to injuries. During this period, Zone tore his right triceps three times, and on various occasions, also tore his pectoral muscle and left thigh, and blew out his knee and rotator. However, the results were difficult to argue with - Zone was now huge.

It was at this time Zone started to compete in professional bodybuilding competitions, but the indignities he suffered on that fateful night still haunted him. Fortunately, Lex Logan had opened a wrestling school, and was accepting new students. Furthermore, Lex did not even recognize Zone from the previous incident, thus giving Zone the perfect opportunity to exact his revenge.

At Zone's first exhibition bout, after graduating as Logan's prize pupil, Lex and Zone were scheduled to wrestle in the main event. During the match, Zone repeated his taunt to Logan, the one he uttered nearly nine years ago ("Is that mustache so that your lover-man can have something to grab onto?"). The sudden realization made Logan furious, and the match quickly turned into a shoot, with Zone taunting and heckling Logan at every turn. Finally, Logan went for his finishing move (an Ace Stunner), but Capone reversed it and delivered a stiff Ace Stunner to Logan, knocking him out cold. It was here where Zone gained a reputation for finishing his opponents with their own finishing moves, a trademark he has carried with him throughout his entire wrestling career.

[edit] Renegade Wrestling Alliance

Zone Capone was among the first members of the Renegade Wrestling Alliance (RWA) when it first started. He was immediately placed in a tournament to determine the federation's first World Champion. He progressed to the finals, where he was slated to face "Unable To Handle" Jay Gamble for the title, however, due to a combination of interference by Zero and backstage politics by Shawn Walsh, the championship match was re-booked to a four-way, which Gamble won. However, Zone established himself as a mainstay of the federation, and remained in the RWA's top tier of performers, right up to the fed's first closing.

[edit] European League Wrestling

Zone debuted in European League Wrestling (ELW) as a heel, but bookers quickly realized he had far more potential as a face. The biggest highlight of his career was defeating Roland Strike, ELW's longest-reigning champion, for the title. The federation's small venues and relaxed atmosphere made Zone very comfortable, however when several checks bounced towards the end, Zone knew it was time to leave. ELW died shortly after this.

RWA re-opened a few years later, and contacted Zone to inform him that he had been selected to be a part of RWA's first Hall Of Fame in 2007. Thrilled with the recognition, Zone re-entered RWA. His first few matches went well, until he was injured during an RWA TV Title match, by being bashed over the head by then-TV Champion Sara Pettis. After a few months to recover, Zone returned to RWA, this time to take revenge on Pettis, who was now the CWF Champion (a title which had been carried over from a collapsed fed). Zone ended up getting his revenge, albeit in a non-title bout.

Shortly thereafter, Connor MacDaddy won the CWF Title from Pettis, and Zone defeated him to become the CWF Champion. Meanwhile, RWA was looking to phase out the CWF Title, and so they set up a match to unify the CWF and RWA titles. Zone faced and defeated Johnny A.M. to win the RWA World Heavyweight Championship, thus concluding a five-year saga. Zone held the title until May of 2008, when dissatisfaction with the company and the opening of ELITE (built from the ashes of ELW) caused him to drop the title to "The Franchise" Christian Cage.

[edit] European League International Television Entertainment

Zone was invited to return to ELW (now known as ELITE), to serve as a road agent and production supervisor. Zone demonstrated a great talent for graphic design and media techniques, and was shortly promoted to ELITE Director Of Media. He remained backstage throughout most of ELITE's early years. However, when wrestler Spanky McPipebomb began tormenting the ELITE backstage crew with endless, mean-spirited pranks and attacks, Zone decided to step out from behind his desk and teach Spanky a lesson. He debuted on ELITE's first supershow in Moscow, Russia, by dropping a television on Spanky's head, and then uttering the joke, "In ELITE, you're on TV... But in Russia, TV is on YOU!"

After a series of matches with Spanky, Zone's next major nemesis was The Legion Of Anonymous. The organization had been hacking into the tron system, duplicating Zone's gimmick of altering people's tron videos in an amusing way. However, Anonymous was using the technique to broadcast offensive, pornographic, and racist videos, with the blame falling on Zone's shoulders. Zone and those loyal to him went to war, largely unsuccessfully, with the Legion. The situation came to a head shortly after The Legion unleashed a powerful EMP blast, which destroyed ELITE Headquarters, killing sixteen employees. Zone eventually took down their leader and unmasked him, revealing the leader to be none other than his personal assistant, Travis Tokelgard (who would later re-enter a revived ELW as Travis 16).

During the feud with Anonymous, Zone won the second Euros In The Bank ladder match, which gave him an opportunity to compete for any title at any time. At the time, The Supreme Force was carrying around the ELITE World Heavyweight Championship belt, despite the fact that he had not actually won it - it had been vacated by its previous owner, Truck. Zone cashed in his case, choosing to compete against "the current World Heavyweight Champion" - thus, due to technicality, winning the title by default.

This began his epic feud with The Supreme Force, which ended with Zone losing the title at Apex Magnum: Olympus. However, he gained his revenge immediately afterwards, destroying the title belt by burning it at the following show, Apex Magnum: Ragnarok.

[edit] The Return Of ELW

When ELW was revived as a sub-brand under the ELITE family of feds, Zone Capone was chosen to be its General Manager. The newly-revived ELW features no-disqualification, falls count anywhere matches almost exclusively, held in small venues (to preserve the original ELW's feel) and airs on the ELITE website, YouTube and Google Video.

Due to the stigma that ELW has been receiving (namely, that it is a gimmicky "B-show" for development talent), Zone is currently at the head of a large-scale brand war between ELITE and ELW core roster members. His ongoing feud with The Supreme Force is one aspect of this war.

[edit] Personal Life

Zone is married and has one daughter, whom he chooses to keep out of the spotlight for a variety of reasons.

Zone is the owner and operator of a health & bodybuilding supplements shop in Gavle, Sweden called "The Zone Shop". While his duties within ELITE keep him very busy, he still does appearances at the shop and uses his fame to promote his online store.

Zone is famous for his love of cigars. His home is equipped with a walk-in humidor, and his suitcase is equipped with a portable humidor, which at any given time contains at least a dozen different types of cigars for any occasion.
